Gone but not forgotten
Diesel was my constant companion for 18 years. He was raised in a tractor trailer and saw more of the United States and Canada then most people, hence the name of Diesel.
Although Diesel knew lots of tricks the one that I always thought cute was where he would pull of my socks. He would get the biggest kick out of that. Unfortunately, the bad part was that he ALWAYS thought that the socks needed to come off, even when you didn't want them to. And it didn't matter if you were company at the house or not...if you had socks on he would try and remove them from you.
His loss is felt by everyone who knew him, but mostly by me. He will always be alive in my heart and memories.

I also have a domestic long haired kitten I adopted from the local shelter named Kismet. Her name means fate and it was the way I ended up with her.
I went to the shelter to find a kitten as I had recently had to put my cat Princess of 18 years to sleep. Kismet's momma, a beautiful light orange long haired cat, was dropped off at the shelter with her kittens.
When I looked into the cage all the kittens were long haired light orange (or so I thought). I reached into the cage to pull out a kitten and when my hand came out there she was..all buff, black and white.
Kismet has adapted well in her two years since rescuing her. She has mellowed out and still retains her strange but beautiful coloring. She still enjoys sitting on the computer desk and watching me, occasionally begging for a treat.
Meet Rosie..my newest addition..I acquired her the first part of June 1997.
Another stray needing a home. The vet says she is in perfect health and gave her an approximate age of 12 weeks. She is not going to be a big cat but that doesn't matter...I love her all the same. She has turned into the cat from Hades with her constant attention getting antics. She ends up soaked most of the time as my husband and I are always using the squirt bottle on her. I believe she is beginning to think her name is "NO". I thought that when I had her spayed she would slow down some like Kismet did...but oh no...we weren't that lucky, but we love her dearly even for all her mischievous spirit.
When I moved to be with my husband I sold one of my aquariums and have not had the time to set the big 55 gallon one up as yet. We will no doubt continue with the cichlids as they are a hardy, low-maintenance fish and colorful.
