WATCH OUT FOR THE UFO CULTS!

Since i already have a cult page, you should check it out to see what i'm talking about. But here i'll focus specifically on UFO cults and how they suggest you to believe they have been contacted by aliens. I'll do it in the form of a Q&A.

PART 1: The Top-10 questions about UFO's

Greetings hooman!

UFO's are simply things we see in the sky, that we cannot identify correctly. People involved in the Rosswell incident of 1947 didn't believe, they didn't even THINK about Extraterrestial life, except in sci-fi movies like Flash Gordon. It wasn't until much later, that some people started to spread the unfounded belief (see below in "Roswell") that the flying disc was from extraterrestrial origin. Why? Because they confused the symbols in a debris with "alien writing". We should notice that the duct tape which covered the "weather baloon" debris was made by a toy factory.

At first, people thought (and it was very probable) that the "Flying disc" was part of some secret government project. As in all man-made traditions, people start to add more and more folklor to any incident, as we see in this UFO Myth Timetable. It's VERY, VERY curious that UFO sightings (and abductions?) and pictures had become gradually popular. You might think: "Well yes, victims and contacted people were afraid to tell, until 'the world was ready'. Fine theory. But what if all of this abduction stuff is just collective inconscience? We've already seen the success of hypnosis to make a person think his imaginations are really recovered memories (for example, many people claiming to be Napoleon or Cleopatra).

When you see something for the first time, you search in your memory to see if there's a match, so you can identify that object. Before UFO's became popular, people were searching for ghosts, poltergeists or related phenomena when they saw strange things in the sky. Now that the term "alien spaceship" is commonly used, people think they have made contact with aliens. But do they have proof? I can only mention one person which claims to have this proof: Billy Meier. But we'll talk about him in part II (Watch out for UFO cults!)

Are we really alone in the universe? All the evidence points to a "yup - we're alone".

11.- ¿What explanations can you give about alien abductions?

Recently, science has discovered certain altered states of consciousness, one of them called "dream interruption". In such state, people use to have hallucinations, the inability of move their body, a very intense fear and the sensation of being watched..

The inability of moving is caused by a muscular inhibition process which happens NORMALLY during dream, to avoid people to run and crash into walls when they dream they're pursued by monsters. Actually sonambulism is a disorder where the person does not produce enough muscular inhibitor. So, in the abrupt dream interruption, you cannot move just because you have to wait until your brain finishes "waking up" completely.

Another symptom of dream interruption is the sexual arousement. This also explains the cases where the person is sure of being sexually "assaulted" by aliens.

Another state is actually a mental disorder, called narcolepsia. It happens when someone suddenly falls in a dream state, where imagination is extremely active. We must remember that in the REM period (when we dream) is very little - at most 5 minutes; however we think that our dreams lasted almost hours, so we don't have to surprise ourselves when someone with narcolepsia loses notion of time.

An state similar to the above, can be reproduced in laboratory, by the emission of electromagnetic waves (even weaker than the ones produced by a hairdrier) of certain frequency near the brain. Don't forget: What makes the brain work? Of course, ELECTRICITY. Now if electromagnetic waves can make a computer go crazy, if computers interfere with your AM radio, if the "harmless cellular phones" can make a plane crash, if TV monitors produce cancer, ¿why not believe that stronger electromagnetic waves can paralyse our body? (the muscles are activated by signals measuring barely microvolts).

In the experiment that i mention, the voluntary started to perceive deformed images of human faces (actually humanoids - with, guess what - grey skin!), fear, the sensation of being observed... coincidence? This huge topic about abductions was exposed in a Discover Magazine documentary. This means scientifically PROVEN.

A very good explanation about abductions is the theory of electromagnetic vortexes (like whirlwinds) which produce plasma lights. Plasma is nothing but a state of matter (like solid, liquid or gas) where atoms lose all their electrons. Plasma can be produce in situations which vary from the sun atmosphere to a simple fire. And of course, the plasma lights sold in Radio Shack. In Discover Magazine, the scientists mentioned that such vortexes reflect daylight - this gives them a metallic likeness) - but... they glow with colored light in darkness.

If two masses of air, one hot and the other cold, can produce reflexions (called mirages), why disbelief that an electromagnetic phenomena can reflect and/or emit light? We already know that light is an ELECTROMAGNETIC wave. The proponent of the electromagnetic vortexes calls them "earth lights". He also mentions that they're not visible from all angles. This also explains why not everyone in the city saw an UFO.

Of course, electromagnetic alterations are produced in zones of a great techtonic (sysmical) pressure. Like volcanos, or faults. Is it a coincidence that more UFO sightings are reported near them? Producers of UFO TV shows like Jaime Maussan, say that those UFOs are actually spaceships warning us of terrible cataclisms. If you think scientifically, you will notice that it's just a symptom of the earth. Hence, the name. Earth lights. Why doesn't he say this? Simple. Hi$ $how would $top giving him benefit$.

Somebody said that the fame of a UFO researcher is directly proportional to his inability to explain naturally a UFO sighting. Coincidence? Think about it. Why don't you read The perverse contradiction of the UFO researcher and find out.

Now if what you want is metaphysical or supernatural explanations here they are. Ghosts, angels, demons - things that move without nobory touching them... many UFO believers also believe in psychics, spiritual planes, etc. Even some believers assure that aliens are not mere humanoids, but "higher beings" (of another dimension or so) who communicate with us telepathically. An angel is a "higher being", right? If the biblical account of fallen angels is true, then demons are "higher beings", too. Then they have the same psychic abilities (or even greater) than "aliens". Pure and simple applied theology. Hhmm... or maybe we're talking about the same beings? That's up to you.

Now let's get back to the scientific viewpoint. Sysmic zone - electromagnetic fields - UFO sightings - lights, brain alterations - abductions ¿Doesn't it sound logical?

Now let's think. What if this abduction phenomena is collective unconscious? I'm talking about hypnotic regresions which reveal supposed "alien abductions". We have seen the hypnotists capacity to make someone believe he recovered memories of "past lives". In fact, the Scientology cult (or dianetics) uses hypnosis to make the victim "remember" experiences previous to his birth. Then, for a few thousands of dollars, he is released from the trauma of his "memories". By the way - ¿how many people believe they were Cleopatra or Napoleon in a past life? 2? 3? 5? 10? Believe me, it's more.

Now allow me to explain better the collective unconscious. When you see something strange, you search deep in your memory to try to identify it. Before UFO's came popular, people were looking for ghosts, poltergeists, haunted houses and related phenomena when they saw weird things in the sky.

500 years ago, if somebody looked at a light in the sky, he would think it was an angel or some apparition. Now they're spaceships. 200 years ago, if someone heard a strange howling in the forest, he believed it was a werewolf or a vampire. Now it's the chupacabras. Just look at the cartoon show "Roswell conspiracies". Banshees and abominable snowmen fighting against the terrible werewolfs and vampires from outer space - everything has to be with UFO's. Scientific explanations or urban leyends?

1. What is a U.F.O. ?

The term "UFO" comes from "Unidentifying Flying Object". There are many varieties of UFO's: Some look like clouds, some look like military radar-deflecting baloons, some look like plasma bursts, others like upside-down car reflections... but most of them look like broken satellites falling into the atmosphere. I saw one satellite video the other day on Discovery. It look like if it was taking off... but it was actually falling down.

2. Is there life outside Earth?

It is very probable that there is. There is evidence of water in some moons of Jupiter, which means some energy sources (heat / volcanoes) have kept the water from freezing . This energy source could also fuse basic elements (C, N, O, H) to produce organic material, which could result in generation of primitive life.

3. Is Planet Earth the only inhabitable planet in the universe?

If you mean inhabitable by humans, we can't know for sure. We would have to see if there is any planet with a great percentage of water, oxigen and non-poisonous atmosphere. We can explore the stars, but those planets which might be seen with radio telescopes may very probably be dead already, since we only see the shadow of their existence millions of years ago.

4. Are there people from outer space?

If there is intelligent life outside this planet, it is a mystery. But we would have to know if this life could aquire the means and scientific knowledge to travel in space.

So far we could only know if we stablish close encounters of the third kind, IF these Aliens DO EXIST. But so far we have seen no direct evidence which points to their existance.

5. What about the Mars face? Doesn't it point to an ancient martian civilization?

smiley face on mars First of all: There is a recent discovery of a natural-made smiley face on mars (see right). There is a rumor that a natural "kermit" the frog formation also exists on mars. This proves us that natural formations can resemble man-made objects. It's like watching the sky and finding trucks, animals on the clouds.

Returning to the famous cydonian face: There face is a natural formation. IT'S NOT EVEN A FACE! Recent NASA pictures show us a natural formation which LOOKS LIKE a face when the sunlight comes from the west. The image below is courtesy of Malin Space Science Systems/NASA pictures:
original
mars face! Old,new and processed versions
If you want the original 1314x413 GIF (405K), here it is! Please check the above picture (left). If you look closely at the right side of the face, you will see that it's not an exact replica of the left. It looks more like a series of holes. Because of sunlight, we tend to think that it's a sculpture.

6. I read in a VERY DETAILED webpage, that the NASA altered the images to hide the TRUE mars face. They want to hide the truth from us!

The conspiracy theory always works! People tend to distrust the government and trust the "believers" on ALL CASES:
The government CANNOT PROVE there isn't a conspiracy. Everything is "manipulated".
On the other hand, UFOlogists DON'T NEED TO PROVE there is a conspiracy. It's "obvious" that the mars face is "real"!

Let's face some basic FACT: EROSION. Erosion is which causes natural formations on mars, earth, and any planet with an atmosphere. And it can alter them, too! Just because some feature (like some dots which look like a teeth, or drop, etc) on the mars face is not present in the modern picture, doesn't mean "the government" altered it. Maybe some sandstorm altered the formation.

Precisely, if some characteristic features are missing in the new picture, this PROVES that the face is natural. An sculpture made of solid rock is much harder to alter due to some natural phenomena (sandstorm, whirlwinds etc) than a natural formation of sand. Just look at the sphynx in Egypt. It's almost intact after thousands of years. Of course, the government "could have altered" the mars pictures precisely for this. I will talk more about the conspiracy-theories in part II.

7. What about Roswell?

The only thing we know for sure about Roswell, is that some flying disc crashed in there. The people interviewed were obviously civilians, they weren't material experts. Remember that in all areas of science and techniques, the US government is always a step ahead. Now we've seen on TV that the government said it was a weather baloon, but what if it was a radar-deflecting baloon? We do know about a project Mogul ran by the government in the nearby areas. The key about lying is to lie the least.

We also know that media always wants to hold a captive audience. Examples about this are the spoon-bending psychics, the daily horoscope... Here's another research page about Roswell, which tells us that the famous strange materials for the disc found at Roswell, were in fact Aluminium Mylar. But the conspiracy theory works in favor of E.T. UFO's: Since all governments lie, then E.T.'s do exist.

8. And the Alien Autopsy? What about the Kodak tests which tell that the film is of the 40's?

image
 from the famous alien autopsy

  • All we know is that SOME PARTS of the film were tested. And they don't show aliens at all! This increases a lot the probability of the film being made much later (see below)

  • Besides, there are some inconsistencies in the way of performing the autopsy. The way of handling the forceps, etc.

  • Why does the alien look like it's a bunch of guts&tissue, and no bones?

  • Why do we see blurry scenes just in the important parts?

All of these questions are answered in Alien Autopsy: Faked or Fiction? (http://www.trudang.com/autopsy.html). They even show us more realistic alien autopsies which make the famous "1947 video" look like child's work.

Have you ever wondered why TV autopsy re-creations look so real? I mean, if we thought THEY were real, why can't we fall for a B/W, and even blurry "documental-style" movie?

Just to know how media can impress people who aren't prepared, just look at The Blair Witch Project, many people thought it was a real thing. And they still wonder (oh man...)
The film makers have collected MILLION$ OF DOLLAR$. Why?
Because it looks like a documentary.

9. And the crop circles? Betcha can't answer that one!

Mandelbrot Set Crop Circle found in 1991 Computer generated Mandelbrot Set

Like this one which appeared in 1991? Well, compare it with the Mandelbrot Set (right) done with a BASIC computer program. Some centuries ago, Euler already knew complex math, and in 1984 fractals were brought to the public in Mandelbrot's work: "The Fractal Geometry of Nature".

The famous "fractint" program (which displays similar images on your PC screen), dates from 1988. THREE YEARS BEFORE the crop formation on the left appeared. I mean, Egyptians could do perfectly square pyramids with some ropes and wooden pieces to measure the sunlight... elyptical stadiums can be built with one rope and two points. You can do it with paper and pencil. How difficult is it to flatten the wheat with some wood, rope and your feet?

It is VERY curious that fractal-style crop circles started to appear PRECISELY A FEW YEARS after Mandelbrot's work on fractals! The first ones were just weird symbols and planetary systems (cool, huh?) Well i think that deals with our "primitive hooman technology".

Triple Julia Set Crop Circle, made by the Circlemakers The cereal art you see on the left depicts a fractal named "Triple Julia Set", and was made by some math-expert guys who call themselves "The CircleMakers". They designed a special computer program to make YOUR OWN crop circles. (Curiously the group's name is "The Satan Team". I don't like it, but maybe they called themselves that way because in the middle ages people would attribute circles to Satan. Now since people have stopped believing in Satan, they call this stuff "works of aliens".

Other pages about making your own circles are:

So i think this deals with "impossible for humans to make this".

What about the radioactive isotopes found in some circles?

Well, i suppose radioactive materials aren't available to normal people (neither weapons or 4 Kilos of cocaine). But hey, would you call pranksters "normal people"? Besides, in every modern hospital there are dedicated radioactive waste trash cans. Not to mention nuclear departments in famous universities. Think about it... if pranksters are crazy enough to do illegal activities such as circlemaking, they could easily break into a place containing radioactive material, couldn't they?

10. And the UFO photos? If they're not alien, what explanations can you give?

Robert Sheaffer's man-made UFO The UFO photo you see on the right was made by Robert Sheaffer (UFO skeptic) with a banana split dish and modeling clay. And now we have computer technology to alter photographs and videos. UFO modeling is quite easy now. We don't know how many people have faked photographs - even videos with modern technology - to draw attention upon them.

On the discovery channel, a scientist said that 95% of the UFO phenomena was explainable. The pictures were either forged, or they depicted satellite garbage falling down. Still, the truly Unidentified flying objects are a challenge to the scientist. Still our science isn't advanced enough to truly identify these phenomena. But 200 years ago mankind didn't know how to handle electricity.

There is a point in favor of UFOlogists: Even if ONE SINGLE DIRECT EVIDENCE, could identify alien civilizations, this would bash all the 99.99% of UFO's that were forged. Yet UFO believers have missed the really important point in here:

That single evidence has NOT been found.

Yes, there are some objects that look metallic, sometimes seem organized, but UNTIL we are certain, we cannot confidently say "Hey, they're alien spaceships!". Remember that if we're dealing with science, we shouldn't try to prove our theory by searching like crazy, some evidence that COULD prove our point. Instead, we should look at the evidence without prejudice, and ask ourselves: What does this evidence point to?

Now i challenge you to answer this interesting question: Many people came to believe in UFO's, not because they had a UFO experience - or if they had, because they were pre-conditioned to believe in UFO's, because the media or UFO frauds like Billy Meier's. If there weren't UFO programs and all the counterfeit UFO videos, the rosswell incident, do you think you would believe in UFO's right now?

And if we're talking about some beliefs which aren't supported by PROOFs, then we're not talking about science. We're talking about religion.

Human psychology also plays an important role: People like to think that there's some life out there and that we're not alone in the universe. Many people like to think about other fantastic worlds to escape for a moment from their cruel reality. Why do you think there are so many fantasy games (i.e. Dungeons & Dragons)? People very often want some escape from their problems - specially when they're not helped to SOLVE these problems (have you ever thought about that?)

And when they're told that there might be life out there, they end up believing what they WOULD LIKE to be the truth, instead of doing some decent research and FINDING OUT the truth. How good could we feel if our fantasies (advanced alien civilizations which have found peace and harmony) were just that, fantasies? No other worlds, no advanced civilizations, no harmony, no nothing. We're just here, "doomed" in a "cruel and ruthless" civilization. This is what St. Paul told us in the Bible:

BIBLE PROPHECY

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables (2Tim 4:3-4)

Mother Teresa How "boring" this universe would be if we were the only intelligent beings, don't you think? But why the heck care about alien civilizations and other worlds if we can change OUR world, OUR civilization, HERE and NOW? Just look at Ma' Teresa... don't you think the money devoted to "alien research" would be more useful in hands like these, devoted to help the poorest of the poor?

The problem with UFOlogists (and psychic researchers) is that they almost ignore completely the possibility of certain phenomena being made intentionally by malicious people, and this biases them when they try to prove that UFO's are truly flying saucers. James Randi, famous magician and skeptic researcher, proved this with psychic researchers and fooled many. Why? They weren't prepared for frauds.

And how do you know i'll fall for them? I mean it's easy to distinguish a charlatan, isn't it?

Oh really? Then i wonder why thousands of high IQ people fell for a charlatan named Charles Russell (who told the world would end in 1914)... Cult leaders are charlatans, alright. But they're damn good at what they do. The "proofs" and "testimonies" they give are so real and look (but not necessarily are) coherent, that it looks very improbable for us that they're fakes. Specially when you see SINCERE people SO CONVINCED of these ideas. I don't know why people have this wierd opinion that cult members are evil and twisted... they're people like you or me. They just believed in the wrong guy (Hey, the Kamikazes truly believed Hiroito was a god! The Nazis truly and sincerely believed that they were a chosen race! - i don't blame them tho, they were taught this since they were kids!)

It's easy to fall into a cult, specially if you're easily suggestionable. Imagine someone you don't know (person A) talks with your brother about your UFO investigations, and this A talks with another someone (person B) you don't know either (passes the information). Then you attend a "psychic development" seminar and this guy-B says: "i am... getting a message... from the higher beings... one of you, who is sitting in the 3rd row [and that's you] has been researching for UFO's". WOW! Incredible! He read your mind! He is really a psychic! (come on...) Obviously you believed in psychics (why else would you go to a psychic development seminar?) so you think it's 50% (at least) probable the guy is really a psychic. If he tells you also about your age and family, you will think it's 90% probable this guy's a psychic. It's just SCAM. But a very developed one. This is how cults are made. And of course, if they make you ADVERTISE this B-guy's psychic powers, the people you tell about him will believe in him because they believe in YOU. (They see your conviction. Conviction really moves people you know). You're sincere, so it's obviously not a cult... because everybody knows cultists are evil (Yeah right).

Note, i do believe psychics exist... i WAS one!, but that's another story.
There may be sincere and true psychics, but unless you do a conscious research, you don't know how many psychics could be following a fake! (They can be fooled, too! They only see the future when they focus, and that's not a seal of warranty! (And who knows if the spirits they're invoking are not evil?) Of course, there can be EVIL psychics out there, too!)

This is why you should know about the characteristic marks of a cult, just to make sure you're not making THE WORST MISTAKE OF YOUR LIFE!
