Three Angels Messages

- Part Three -

Judgment and Worship

"Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (KJV) And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (KJV) And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand," Rev 14:7-9

Who or what may we worship

Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name
is Jealous, is a jealous God: (KJV)

Does God accept any form of worship which we give Him?

Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you
hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their
lips, but their heart is far from me.
Mark 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the
         commandments of men.
Mark 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of
men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like
         things ye do. (KJV)
Mark 7:9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God,
that ye may keep your own tradition. (KJV)

Does God ever tell us how to worship Him ?

Ezek 46:9 But when the people of the land shall come before the LORD in the
solemn feasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to
worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that
entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way
of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate
whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it. (KJV)

We should worship in fear and holiness, not in laughter and folly

John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in
          spirit and in truth. (KJV)

Ps 5:7 But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy
mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. (KJV)

Ps 96:9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all
        the earth. (KJV)

Ps 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in
        the beauty of holiness. (KJV)

1 Chr 16:29 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an
offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of
            holiness. (KJV)

Some examples

Cain + Abel

Nadab and Abihu

Lev 10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his
censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered
strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. (KJV)
Lev 10:2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they
         died before the LORD. (KJV)

Saul and Samuel,

1 Sam 15:18 And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly
destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them
            until they be consumed. (KJV)
1 Sam 15:19 Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but
didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
1 Sam 15:20 And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the
LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have
brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the
            Amalekites.
1 Sam 15:21 But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of
the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to
sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal. (KJV)
1 Sam 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt
offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the
            fat of rams. (KJV)
1 Sam 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as
iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the
LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king. (KJV)
1 Sam 15:24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed
the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the
people, and obeyed their voice. (KJV)
1 Sam 15:25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with
me, that I may worship the LORD. (KJV)
1 Sam 15:26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou
hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected
thee from being king over Israel. (KJV)

David and Uzza

1 Chr 13:5 So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even
unto the entering of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from
           Kirjath-je'arim. (KJV)
1 Chr 13:6 And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to
Kirjath-je'arim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the
ark of God the LORD, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose
           name is called on it.
1 Chr 13:7 And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of
Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart. (KJV)
1 Chr 13:8 And David and all Israel played before God with all their might,
and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with
timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets. (KJV)
1 Chr 13:9 And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put
forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled. (KJV)
1 Chr 13:10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote
him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before
           God. (KJV)
1 Chr 13:11 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon
Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day. (KJV)

1 Chr 15:2 Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the
Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God,
and to minister unto him for ever. (KJV)
1 Chr 15:3 And David gathered all Israel together to Jerusalem, to bring up
the ark of the LORD unto his place, which he had prepared for it.

1 Chr 15:12 And said unto them, Ye are the chief of the fathers of the
Levites: sanctify yourselves, both ye and your brethren, that ye
may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel unto the place that
I have prepared for it. (KJV)
1 Chr 15:13 For because ye did it not at the first, the LORD our God made a
breach upon us, for that we sought him not after the due order.
1 Chr 15:14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up
the ark of the LORD God of Israel. (KJV)
1 Chr 15:15 And the children of the Levites bare the ark of God upon their
shoulders with the staves thereon, as Moses commanded according
to the word of the LORD. (KJV)

What is the worship that the Lord requires :

Amos 5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your
          solemn assemblies.
Amos 5:22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will
not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings
          of your fat beasts. (KJV)
Amos 5:23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear
the melody of thy viols. (KJV)
Amos 5:24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty
          stream. (KJV)

We are to worship the Creator

Ps 148:5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were
         created. (KJV)

Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these
things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them
all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong
in power; not one faileth. (KJV)

How are we specifically directed to worship the creator ?

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. (KJV)
Exodus 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: (KJV)
Exodus 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it
thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter,
thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy
stranger that is within thy gates: (KJV)
Exodus 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all
that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD
blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (KJV)

To what other creation does the Sabbath point us

Isaiah 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former
shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. (KJV)

Ps 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Eph 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which
is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; (KJV)
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; (KJV)
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
         righteousness and true holiness. (KJV)

Deu 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that
the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by
a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to
         keep the sabbath day. (KJV)

The Sabbath is a sign that we worship the creator God and that we are sanctified by Him

Eze 20:20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you,
that ye may know that I am the LORD your God. (KJV)

Ezek 20:12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and
them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them.

Exodus 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my
sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you
throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD
             that doth sanctify you. (KJV)
