WE recently played a praise and worship clinic in Missouri. We had the opportunity to work with about 20 kids to prepare a Praise and Worship service. The conference was held at the Central Methodist College in Fayette MO. We arived on Friday about 5:30 and set up our sound system. We played a praise and Woship service for about an hour that evening. On Saturday we worked with the youth for 2 hours teaching them the songs and working with the instrumentalist to find their parts. Later that afternoon we worked for another hour and a half to polish up on what we had worked on. At 9:00 that night the Butler Brothers Band gave a concert. We had a blast and the kids had a good time too.
On Sunday Morning the kids did the service that they had been working on. There was a puppet show and a skit and preaching, and lots of music. One thing that surprised us as a band was when one of the girls at the preaching service said that she did not know that Jesus was God. She had always thought that Jesus was lower than God. Fortunately for her she learned that week the truth about God. I think for us it was an eye-opener that just because you are singing for people that are in the Church that you should never take it for granted that they know the truth. We always try to share truth but, it reinforced our commitment to the message.
