Sir Dennis Cheatgallows, Fugitive of Elsinore

"Dennis"

Dennis' Agility Page

This is Dennis, who was taken from an animal shelter by an ESRA volunteer the day before he was supposed to be euthanized. He had been picked up as a stray. We estimate that he is between 1 and 2 years old--a baby!!!! Our family was fortunate to be his foster family and as a result, we were allowed to adopt him.

Dennis initially appeared to be very quiet, but he was just kidding us!!! Actually he's a little ball of energy. I have never owned a dog that loves toys as much as Dennis. He also can run around for ages.
He also loves people and other dogs. He's crazy about kids and wants to meet every one he sees.

Dennis is a ball dog and is learning to retrieve to hand. He is gentle about releasing the ball, but right now also loves a good game of "keep away". I'm hoping that he will be my first flyball and agility dog. Right now we're in Novice Obedience and he seems to really like it!
So far everything we have taught him (using only positive methods) he has learned very quickly. He sits on command, stays off the sofa on his own.
He loves to give kisses and is driving our Dobergirl nuts with his desire to play. She "puts him in his place" pretty quickly, though and he responds well to her "corrections".

Here he is relaxing. Even though he is a very active dog, he is also very, very gentle dog. He tolerates grooming and has had mats and burrs combed out of him and his ears cleaned without complaint. He loves to chew on chewbones, but will give them up without a problem. In fact, he likes to play at retreiving them as much as he likes chewing them.
Here he is in a somber moment at about age 3. Still looks like a pup to me! So far (11/00) he has earned his CGC and has earned one leg toward his CD.
