IMAGES OF '98

I cannot say that this has been the only year that will be
imprinted on my mind forever. There have been other
events at different times of my life but 1998 has been
one completely filled, as you will see from these images.
.

January 1998 and Joshua starts his formal schooling (Primary 1).
Here he is in his school uniform rearing to go! In this month also,
Joshua started catechism classes at our parish church.

Sara-Ann in her school uniform chosen 'Prefect-In-Training'
What a grand title for a 9 year old ! Pictured here with Joshua.

Some of the girls having fun outdoors

In February a group of mothers started 'Club R Us'for 6-12 year old girls.
We planned a wide range of activities, outings & relevant talks of subjects
which the girls would benefit from. The club is an on-going project and will
continue into the new year.

David's Baptism at the Easter Vigil Mass, Church of the Holy Cross on April 11.
The longest awaited event of my life!

In May my mother went for major back surgery.
It was a worrying time for our family but with prayers and
God's grace she did very well during and after the operation,
considering she has lots of health problems, including osteoporosis.
The power of prayer is really great and with God's help she's recovering well.

In May too, we lost a good friend to cancer,
however we know that John has gone home to the Lord.
We pray for him and for his family and are glad that he,
his wife Janette and youngest son Jason were baptised Catholics
a year and a half before.

Bible Camp - Love is the theme. With prayers
and God's help, a group of mothers managed to plan
bible camps for our children during the 2 long
school breaks in June and December. Picture is of
some of the children with our dear Kit Kat who helps
at every camp though she hasn't kids of her own.

What a joy it is to see the little ones
enjoying themselves as well as soaking in God's word!
Picture is of the children getting ready for the Mass.

After the bible camp, we decided to take a short
holiday in Malacca, Malaysia which is about 2 hours
drive from Singapore. Its a beautiful little town
with lots of historial buildings and old churches.

The children got a taste of what the old days of
Singapore were like. David and I managed to rest
and relax before returning home to get on the
merry-go-round of work and attending to the
daily needs of life in a fast-paced city.

We celebrated again in July at the confirmation of David
into the Catholic Faith, by the head of the Church in Singapore
His Grace, Archbishop Gregory Yong.
