Jocelyn in her Sampaloc Manila Boarding House - 1979Gentry in Athens, Greece - 1979
In the Fall of '79, Jocelyn was busy as a student at La Consolacion College Manila and Gentry was roaming the Mediterranean Sea onboard an Aircraft Carrier. Thousands of miles apart, Gentry aggresively courted Jocelyn via snail mail.

Privacy was precious and few for Jocelyn in a dorm and Gentry on a ship, We came up with a way to always read our love letters without interruption from others.

Our honeymoon pic overlooking Taal Lake
We have no wedding pictures to show you. The Honorable Judge Ibanez married us 03 December 1980 in Rosario, Cavite. The camera my father used that day ate up the film. So what we have here is our honeymoon photo at Taal Vista Lodge, Tagaytay.

Graduation Portrait - 1981
Jocelyn graduates three months after marriage.

There you have it... Our "Early Years Picture Story Board"... Gentry would later leave Jocelyn for various naval operation commitments. A total of seven deloyments in all, six to eight months in duration. Along the way she raised two children - Jenylyn and Raygen. Gentry legt the Navy after 22 years of naval service. We celebrate our 28th anniversary with the joyful thought there will be no more birthdays nor holidays apart. We move on towards our 29th year joyfully praising God for keeping our family together and in good health.

"Marriage Joins Two People in the Circle of Its Love"

Marriage is a commitment to life -
to the best that two people can find
and bring out in each other.
It offers opportunities for sharing and growth
that no other human relationship can equal,
a joining that is promised for a lifetime.

Within the circle of its love,
marriage encompasses all of life's most important relationships.
A wife and a husband are each other's best friend,
confidant, lover, teacher, listener, and critic.
There may come times when one partner is heartbroken or ailing,
and the love of the other
may resemble the tender caring of a parent for a child.

Marriage deepens and enriches every facet of life.
Happiness is fuller; memories are fresher; commitment is stronger;
even anger is felt more strongly, and passes away more quickly.

Marriage understands and forgives the mistakes life is unable to avoid.
It encourages and nurtures new life, new experiences,
and new ways of expressing love through the seasons of life.

When two people pledge to love and care for each other in marriage
they create a spirit unique to themselves,
which binds them closer than any spoken or written words.
Marriage is a promise, a potential,
made in the hearts of two people who love,
which takes a lifetime to fulfill.

- Edmund O'Neill

HARANA
DanteKris Cover of Parokya ni Edgar's HARANA
