URL submissions are gladly accepted at Distant Cousins. Please keep in mind that Distant Cousins is exclusively dedicated to genealogy and subjects related thereto. Sites about history, culture, religion, news, ethnic cooking and the like are welcome so long as they might be of interest to persons pursuing genealogical research. Other types of sites will not be indexed. We ask you to not waste our time by submitting sites about subjects not in any way related to genealogy. If you are uncertain about whether your site is of a type which might be listed, your site is probably not right for Distant Cousins. In order to expedite your listing and to ease some of our strain, we ask that you include as much specific and relevant information about your site as possible. We also ask you to submit the addresses of pages from the interior of your site that cover specific topics or contain specific types of information. For example: If your site is a general genealogy site which contains census data extractions, obituary links, ships passenger lists extractions, your GEDCOM file, a surname query bulletin board, etc., we would be happy to find a home for all of your pages in our index. However, if you merely submit your main URL with no explanation, or an explanation which lists everything under the sun, chances are that you will get lost in the morass of general genealogy sites. If instead you take the time to send Distant Cousins each of your URLs for individual topics of interest or with comments about where in the index one of your pages fits, we think you will be much more happy with the results. With all this in mind, you may now submit your site.
