BILL LANDESMAN'S DOG TRAINING

Water Drip

HINTS IN THE HEAT:

DO...

  • Keep fresh water available at all times!
  • Keep dog in the house, in cool room, with AC on, if possible!
  • Let dog go outside, only to relieve himself, then return inside immediately
    to
    cool area!
  • Take it easy with obedience lessons. Train in cool places, for short times only! Better yet, skip a day in extreme heat!
  • Disregard housebreaking water schedule temporarily. Dog's welfare
    comes first
    !

DO NOT...

  • Leave dog outside in sun or shade for any length of time!
  • Take dog in car, or on any shopping trips!
  • Play ball with dog, go jogging, or take long walks!
  • Force dog to eat! Eating a little, or not at all, is normal on extremely hot
    days
    !

REMEMBER YOUR DOG CAN NOT SWEAT TO COOL HIMSELF
AS YOU DO! THE HEAT IS HIS DEADLY ENEMY! ONLY YOU CAN
HELP HIM SURVIVE!
