Background
During the years 1951 through 1960,
we lived in the Netherlands. The Mulder family --- Paul, Rosa, and
4 children: Gerrit, Magda, Sylvia and Daan. Our street address was
Groen van Prinstererlaan 14 in the village of Wildervank (Gron.), next
to the families Sprenger (13) and Veldhuis (15). From 1st through
6th grades I attended the Westerschool, then 1 year at the ULO on the
Oosterdiep, before our entire family emigrated to the United States in
June of 1960. I was 14 years old at the time. The first name
Gerrit was translated to the American Jerry. Jerry is married to
the former Wendy Albrecht, see coat-of-arms at top-left. If you remember who I
am, please contact me at this
e-mail address, or else click on
the animated e-mail link further down. I make attempts to answer each
message. We now live on the west coast of the United States, and
plan to make this our permanent home. Should you wish to contact
us further, I can provide those details at a later time.
Interests
My wife and I enjoy travel quite a
bit. Some of our destinations include the coastal City of Ocean
Shores, all the way on the west coast by the Pacific Ocean in the State
of Washington, and Mount Rainier to the south of us, as well as Tillicum
Village on Blake Island. The offices of Microsoft are a mere 20
minutes ride via car, in the City of Redmond.
The
200 Closed-Circuit Television cameras (CCTV) from the Washington State
Department of Transportation
give beautiful renditions of some areas in this vicinity, including the
two floating bridges over Lake Washington. Lake Washington is an
expansive body of water which lies inbetween the Cities of Seattle and
Bellevue/Redmond.
Fishing, Anyone?
For the fishermen in our midst: We
have a gorgeous fish (part of the spiny ray family) which is called
bluegill (Lepomus Macrochirus), a real fighter for its relatively small
size. In the western part of the United States, especially in some
of the colder northern states, they do not grow to very large size, yet
it is an excellent sport fish. 35 miles to the north of us are two
beautiful lakes called Twin Lakes, where those creatures may be found in
abundance. Bluegill season starts in early June, and ends late
September. For a neat site, click
