NOVEMBER 16th
FRENCH & INDIAN WAR
PROGRAM: Visiting DAR member Barbara Cook will speak and present slides
pertaining to the French & Indian War which preceded the American
Revolution.
DECEMBER 14th
CHRISTMAS 1776
PROGRAM: Mike Campbell, Jimtown High School Teacher, will speak about
the Sons of Liberty, battles fought at Christmas 1776, and the battle
fought at Valley Forge with George Washington.
JANUARY 18th
NATIONAL DEFENCE
PROGRAM: Speaker: Marine Recruiter Nathan Laskowski
FEBRUARY 15th
AMERICAN HISTORY ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS - PROGRAM: Winners will read aloud
their history essays.
MARCH 21st
WOMEN' S ISSUES
PROGRAM: Former SOUTH BEND BLUE SOCKS professional softball team members,
Lou Arnold, Janet Wiley Sears, and Fran Janssen will have a round table
discussion about how they entered the "Men's" playing field.
Also, they will tell stories about their experiences as women players.
