General Pages

Home Page/Introduction
Tells about the site and offers a brief history of the Blinn family.

Resources
Lists a few of the books and records which we have in our private library from which I can do look ups if your family is in one of the areas these cover.

Links
Gives internet links to other genealogical and family sites as well as other places on the web which I have found to be useful. This started out as my own bookmark page.
Blinn Pages

Ancestry of James Blinn of Nevada
Gives my own genealogical Blinn line for Peter to my grandfather James. Includes links to the photo album pages and family trees.  If you are a close relative to me, start here.

Blinn a Study of the Family and Name
Gives the booklet by Rev. Richard Blinn in JPG format.  Interesting general overview of the history of the Blinn Family.  Sorry about the long download time, but I feel it is worth it.

The Captivity of Clara Blinn
an article about one Blinn and her capture by indians in the 1800s

Kinships with the Famous
This page is really most for fun, but the information is interesting.  It will be expanded as I gather more information.

Coat of Arms
I don't really like this page as rules for arms vary from country to country and I do not feel I have enough information, but many want to know, so here is what I have so far

Adam Blinn
a page with some information on Adam Blinn who came from Germany, as this line is unrelated to me so far, it is only info found on other areas of the web.  It will probably be expanded later as I get more stuff particularly on Blinns in Ohio entered into the site.

Peter Blinn
Concerns the first Blinn immigrant to America.
the following pages are of Blinns descended from him:

Peter Blinn Jr.
Eldest son of Peter.  Most of his descendants stayed in Connecticut, went to Vermont and Canada with a few in Kentucky and other areas

Captain James Blinn
Second son of Peter, who went to Boston.  One grandson's family went to Maine, see below.

Blinns in Maine
Introduction to the genealogy of the Blinn family in Woolwich, Dresden and surrounding areas.  These are the descendants of James the grandson of James, who was the second son of Peter. I had to divide up this page as it was getting too large.  Arbitrarily the family is now divided into the following three pages.
Blinns in Woolwich Maine
Contains most of James' children's information
Blinns in Dresden Maine
Information on three sons and their descendants: David, Francis and Harrison
Theophilus Blinn
Information and the decendants of Theophilus Blinn, son of James, great-grandson of Peter.

William Blinn
Peter's third son

Margaret Blinn
Peter's second daughter, fifth child

Jonathan Blinn
Peter's seventh child and his descendants.

Deliverance Blinn
Peter's eighth and youngest child.
Note Pages
These pages contain Blinn information that I have come across mostly on the net.  I had saved this stuff thinking that I might need it later, then realized maybe it would be of some help to others.  So here it is, far from complete, if you find anything wrong, or would like to add to these pages, I would appreciate it, so please contact me.

Cemetery Records
A few records of Blinns and where they are buried, a few photos.

Census Records
Census lists of Blinns divided by state or province.  NOT COMPLETE, just what I have found so far. States beginning with
A thru C, D thru L, M and N, O thru S, & T thru Z..

City Directories
Information from city directories found on the internet.  Detail varies.

Obituaries
These are all so far recent obituaries, but the genealogical information in most is interesting as well as showing a bit of where some of the current Blinn families reside.

Blinns at War
This page is just lists of service men carrying the Blinn name.  I just started this page, so it is primarily the Civil War veterans.  Eventually I plan to put all Blinn servicemen I find here.  One thing is does help with is to show the areas of concentration of Blinns.
