Tags- mailing tags of all sizes.  You can find them at office supply stores in bulk.  Wal-Mart also has some of the smaller sized tags, but not the big mailing tags.
Adhesive- I use Perfect Paper Adhesive to apply all of the papers onto my tags.  You can also use Mod Podge.  They both have gloss or matte finishes.  I'm sure that there are other adhesives, this is just what I currently use.
Inks, water colors, etc.-  These are used to color your tags.  I use inks of all colors, oil pastels, chalk pastels, and water color pencils.
Sponges, Q-Tips, etc.-  These are used to apply the ink to the tags.  I use Q-Tips with the chalk pastels and my finger-tips with the oil pastels.  Paint brushes for the water color pencils.  I bought a big sponge from Home Depot and cut pieces off of it.  You can also use cosmetic sponges.
Decorative Papers-  There are so many beautiful papers out now.  Check out your local scrapbook/stamping store, Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc.  Be sure to look at  the wonderful handmade, origami, wallpaper, and wrapping papers, too.  There is also mulberry paper and it is my favorite.  I use it a lot.

Magazine Clippings-  I sat down one day (well, actually a few) and went through a ton of my old magazines.  Victoria Magazine is my favorite for clippings.  I cut out anything that caught my eye.  Flowers, people, words, letters, etc.  I have them organized by subject in boxes.

Postage Stamps- I save all of the stamps from the mail that we get and keep them in a box to use on my tags.  You can also buy antique and foreign stamps from on-line vendors and rubber stamp stores.
Rubber Stamps-  You don't always have to use rubber stamps on your tag art, but they can be a wonderful accent to a collaged tag.
Embossing Powders-  Embossing powders are another wonderful accent that can be used on your tags.  You can emboss a stamped image or have a circle or blob of ultra thick embossing enamel (UTEE)  with an image stamped in it.
Yarns, Fibers ribbons, etc.- Use these to decorate your tags.  I use yarns, ribbons, chenille yarn, silk ribbon, DMC cotton floss and other specialty embroidery flosses and yarn.  Don't forget about other things, like strips of fabric and raffia.
Beads and charms- These are great embellishments for tags.  You can string the beads on the yarns, stick them into melted UTEE and so much more.  Anything can be used to embellish you tag.  Keys, buttons...let your imagination run wild and have fun!
