About Myself

Hi !! Welcome to my homepage. I am Pushpa Paudel. "Pushpa" stands for flower in Nepalese Language. I am proud to say that I am from Nepal, one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Mount Everest, the highest peak of the world, lies in Nepal. "Sagarmatha", is the Nepalese name for the 8,848m high mountain.

My dad has retired from work and right now he just relaxes, travels to places, attends religious ceremonies and enjoys reading newspapers. My mom is a good house wife. She cooks really good food. I miss her very much. I have one brother. He is elder than me and he is currently working in Boston, USA.

I got my primary education at Garahu Kali School in Walling (Nepal). I did my secondary studies until Grade 10 from Bhu. Pu. Sainik School and Pioneers' School in Walling( Nepal ). I completed my 11th grade from Bal Kumari College in Narayangrah (Nepal). I was then lucky to attend Stonington High School, Connecticut (USA) in Fall 1999 to continue my 12th grade.

I stayed with my host family when I attended the high school here. There is an interesting story on how I was lucky to find such a wonderful family. Sadly, they have now moved to Montana but we are constantly in touch. I learned a lot of things from them and my year with them is a very memorable one. It was fun to learn American culture, and at the same time share things about my Nepali culture.

After graduating from high school, I attended Teikyo Post University, CT in Fall 2000 for my undergraduate studies. After a year in Teikyo Post University, I transferred to the University of Massachusetts Boston, MA in Fall 2001. My field of interest so far is in Computer Science/International Business.

I like to travel, make friends, dance, listen Nepalese\hindi\English\international music, hang around with friends. In sports, I like to run, do skiing, ice scating, play chess and vollyball. In food. I love daal, bhat and tarkari (a typical Nepalese dish) most. But I have also got an opportunity to try out food from a variety of countries as there were students from a lot of countries in my university and I love to do that whenever I get a chance. But nothing seems to be better than my mom's home-cooked food and I really miss it at times.

If you want to know more about me then you can send me an e-mail or drop some valuable comments in my guestbook . I will really appriciate that. Thank you for visiting my website.
