ELIGIBILITY
THE ENTRANT-
1/ Must be a financial member of his/her Leo club. It should be remembered that it is quality not quantity of years that is important.
2/ Should have a genuine interest and concern for the happenings of his/her club and Community.
3/ Should be able to demonstrate a high level of leadership skills both within Leos and the community.
AIM
The aim is to develop and encourage individual qualities of Leadership, Experience and Opportunity within the candidates who will be fine ambassadors of the Leos of Australia and PNG. both within these countries and overseas. Such ambassadors should have a good knowledge and appreciation of the Leo Programme and Lions Clubs International, and of Australia/PNG and it’s affairs. The Leo of the Year will promote Leos to Lions.
LEVELS OF COMPETITION:
1/ District - Each club may nominate one or more members depending on any specific restrictions of an individual district. Districts should consider this carefully before enforcing any such restrictions.
2/ State - Each District Leo of the Year is eligible to nominate in that State’s Leo of the Year Competition. Eg, V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6 District winners are eligible for the Victorian State Leo of the Year.
3/ Multiple - Each State Leo of the Year then becomes eligible to District contest the MD Leo of the Year.

1: Prominent Lion
2: Prominent Lady in the Lions Organisation
3: Any other community service orientated person
MULTIPLE DISTRICT
1: Current District Governor
2: District Governor Elect
3: Past International Officer or Past Council Chairman
4: Prominent Lady in the Lions Organisation
5: Past Leo of the Year or Prominent Community Based Person
