MCCARRAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

This is the 12th busiest airport in the US with an average of 84,000 passengers daily.  In 1997, 30 million passengers passed through the airport, including 2 million international travelers.  With addition of the new “D” concourse, McCarran maintains its vital link with Las Vegas’ tourist trade.  While there, take the time to see the little touches that make this airport unique: the large panels of children’s art tiling the walls on either side of the “D” concourse tram, the landscape scenes by internationally recognized local artist Robert Beckmann and the whimsical children’s area where kids can fly over the observation deck.  Smaller nearby airports such as in North Las Vegas are popular take-off points to explore the scenic grandeur of the Southwest.
