3. Alson³ GORDON (Samuel², Alexander¹)⁽⁸⁾ was born in Henderson County, North Carolina abt 1823. Alson died 5 September 1901 in Saluda, Polk County, North Carolina. His body was interred 7 September 1901 in Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, NC.

He married twice. He married Nancy COOPER in Greenville County, South Carolina, abt 1844. Nancy was born in South Carolina 1825.⁽⁹⁾ Nancy died 1858 in Forks of Pigeon, Haywood County, North Carolina. Her body was interred 1858 in Green Hill Cemetery Waynesville, Haywood Co., NC. He married Sarah Ann RUSSELL abt 1859. Sarah was born 6 February 1841. Sarah died 20 November 1925 in Saluda, Polk County, North Carolina, at 84 years of age. Her body was interred 21 November 1925 in Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery, Saluda, NC.

Alson GORDON and Nancy COOPER had the following children:

14 v. Nancy L. GORDON was born in Forks of Pigeon, Haywood County, North Carolina 1858.

Alson GORDON and Sarah Ann RUSSELL had the following children:

+ 15 vi. William Pickney "Bud" GORDON was born 1 December 1859.

+ 16 vii. Sarah Elizabeth GORDON was born 25 December 1860.

17 viii. James Columbus Eddie "Lum" GORDON⁽¹⁰⁾ was born in Forks of Pigeon, Haywood County, North Carolina 12 February 1864. James died 14 September 1953 in Henderson County, N.C. (near Flat Rock), at 89 years of age. His body was interred 16 September 1953 in Macedonia Cemetery near Saluda, North Carolina. He married Mintie Belle Guice in Henderson County, North Carolina, 11 February 1896. Mintie was born 3 August 1874. She was the daughter of Joseph Guice and Sarah Pace. Mintie died 8 July 1958 at 83 years of age. Her body was interred 10 July 1958 in Macedonia Cemetery near Saluda, North Carolina.

Occupation: Farmer.

+ 19 x. Teresa Angeline "Tressie" GORDON was born 16 October 1868.

+ 20 xi. Joseph Mathenia GORDON was born 27 January 1871.

+ 21 xii. Marion Mark Hannah GORDON was born 11 December 1874.

+ 22 xiii. J. Luther GORDON was born 16 February 1877.

23 xiv. Henry GORDON was born in Henderson County, North Carolina 1879. Henry died 1879 in Haywood County, North Carolina.

+ 24 xv. Ulysses Sherril GORDON was born 26 September 1881.

+ 25 xvi. Mentie GORDON was born 24 August 1883.
