Vaccinations
Our puppies are vaccinated at 8, 12 and 16 weeks and again one year later. A rabies vaccine is given to our pups between 16 and 24 weeks of age. After this, we re-vaccinate every three years.Eye Health
We CERF our dogs yearly until they reach the age of eight, after this, they are cerfed every other year.
CERF is an acronym for Canine Eye Registry Foundation. A vet, qualified to provide CERF testing must be a member
of ACVO (American College of Veterinary Opthalmologists). In addition,
all of our Cresteds are Optigen DNA tested normal (non-carrier) for PRA-Prcd, or are clear by default.
Hearing
Prior to entering our breeding program, our cresteds undergo BAER testing to ensure they have normal hearing. BAER is an acronym for Brainstem auditory evoked response. Eloctrodes are placed on the scalp of the puppy and a click tone is generated. Brain activity is picked up and recorded to accurately determine if hearing occurs in one or both ears
General Health
All pups leaving our home have received a wellness check with my veterinarian, prior to placement. During this check, pups are examined for overall health. Their hearts and patellas are also checked for soundness.
