Teaching

I teach Earth Science, Biology, and Special Education Labs. Well, the year is half over already! This year I am teaching 2 sections of Regents Earth Science, one section of General Biology, and one section of General Earth Science. My students this year are nice. I have a feeling that 75% of my Regents Earth kids will do well on the Regents given in June. This is the hardesst regents (in my opinion)!! Good Luck to all taking Finals and Regents!

Licensed Veterinary Technicians

I have been working at the same animal hospital since 1987. It is a wonderful place. There is one Doctor who owns the practice, and 3 other vets under him. There are 5 licensed vet techs, including myself, and about 10 other support personnel. We are busy!! Some days you don't have any time to think, and other times you are looking for things to do. (Although that hasn't happened recently)

In order to become licensed, I had to pass my course work, and take a two part test. The first part was the written test. The second part was given in January, up at Cornell. If you know anything about Cornell, January is not the time to visit! Snow everywhere!

During the school year, I do the purchasing for the whole hospital. Keeping track of inventory is tricky too! During the summer, I help out and fill in for vacations, and when people are sick. It can be a very stressful job, but is always rewarding. When you get to see the cat go home, that was too weak to eat last week, is a wonderful feeling. Knowing you had a part in helping the pets get better, is like no other feeling.

I highly reccommend getting involved with the animal science field.
