Linda & Bernie Jackson

We met at Stanford University in 1989, when we lived in the same dorm. Linda was studying psychology, and Bernie was studying electrical engineering. On July 11, 1992, we got married.

Linda grew up just a few miles from Stanford.

After we got married, Linda taught 4th and 5th grade while Bernie finished graduate school. Then Bernie began working at a startup company, and Linda worked part time on her Master's degree. We lived in several Silicon Valley apartments, from Mountain View to Santa Clara.

A few years later, we moved into a house near Linda's parents, still within a few miles of Stanford. We stayed there for three years, and that's where Becky was born. Linda stopped teaching to stay home with Becky, and Bernie quit his job to work at home designing web sites.

Bernie grew up in Tampa, FL.

When Becky was about a year old, we decided it was time for a bigger house. We found Colorado Springs was affordable and a good place to raise kids, so we took a scouting trip just after Becky's first birthday. On the trip we found out Linda was pregnant with Jake!

Also about that time (summer 1998), Linda began designing fleece baby blankets and wanted to market them. We started a home business called Snugaroo.

On Jan 19, 1999 we moved into our new house in Colorado Springs. Jake gave us just enough time to set up before he was born March 29. All four of our parents came out to help us during the birth and to see Becky and Jake. Just after Jake came, Bernie found a job at a software company. Linda will continue to take care of the kids at home, while filling orders and creating new designs for Snugaroo.
