When I was a kid it was a big deal for me to have pen pals. I used to love to write letter and of course, recieve letters from people from all over the world. Today, life is much faster though, daily I chat, email, and send instant messages to friends all over the world. The purpose of this page is to share with you some of these super people I have "met."
As I have said before on my previous pages, I spend a great deal of time (when I'm not playing with my homepage) chatting in WBS needlecraft. It was there that I met "mainzelmann"(Monika) and her Aunt Peg. They live in Bonn, Germany. Monika(left) is German and Peg(right) is English. I have spoken to Monika on the phone and she has a German-British accent.One time she even called me all the way from Germany to give me a hard time. What a gal! Since meeting we have also exchanged via snail mail letters and gifts. Monika is a journalist for a Catholic newspaper and Peg is retired from being the head mistress at the US Embassy in Bonn.
This is Leanda and her darling daughter, Rhiannon. Leanda is my Aussie friend! We have had a great time emailing ourselves to each other. *LOL* She has emailed herself to me to help stencil my bathroom and I had a great time when I emailed myself to her to go to a big craft show. What a character this gal is! She is also a very talented gal who does heirloom sewing for a boutique in Australia.
This is Mark and Julie Travies that live in Mt. Home, Idaho. When I first "met" Jules she had just retired from the Air Force and was living in New Mexico. This was Feb. 1997. In July they were transfered to Idaho beings Mark is still in the Air Force. Finally in October my husband and I went to Idaho and got to meet them. What a couple of great folks. We went to dinner with them, had a great time, and later went to their home. The next morning we met for breakfast before we had to leave. In March we are all going to try to go to Jackpot, Nevada together and really kick up our heels.Update: Went to Jackpot and had a really great time getting to know each other better.
