Who are group 116

Group 116 is much like all HCPT groups. It is made up of 3 subgroups :

Most importantly there are the Children, they are the whole purpose of HCPT and come from a variety of different backgrounds. They often range from the severely mentally and physically handicapped to those who may be just socially disadvantaged. They range in age from about 9 to 17 and we take out a different group every year.

Then there are the helpers, this year we had 16 helpers in Lourdes for 12 children, each child has an allocated helper of the same sex and all groups also have a nurse (or doctor), a group leader and a chaplain, we also have an older helper who comes with us to help. The helpers range in age from about 20 to about 70 and come themselves from a great variety of backgrounds, all have to pay for the privilege of giving up one week of there life to help. Most of us enjoy it so much we come back year after year.

Finally but no less importantly there are those who support our work as a group and a trust, those who help financially and in so many other ways, those without whose help it would be impossible for us go to Lourdes.
