Past Events
The following are our events we did in the 1998-1999 season - the girls were busy and continue to be busy in the year 1999 :-)
During our Fall season we finished our Earth and Sky Try - Its - We went for a nature walk and looked through our binoculars. We also studied soil, temperature and how plants grow. Each girl is taking turns with an air plant. They take care of it and bring it back to the meetings .
The girls earned their Puppet try - it this month - they
made puppet sticks and put on a puppet show ! They also designed their own doll clothes and did a wonderful job .
The girls also earned their dancercise try-it ! They enjoyed dancing, exercising, healthy snacks and a great video !

Some of the Council and Service Unit events the girls also participated in were the homecoming parade, the "My Story" try-it event, Brownie Fun Day,Juliette Low's birthday skating party,tumbling tumblers and the Parade of Lights!
Fun was had by all !
We have completed all our November and December events. The girls had their Investiture and rededication ceremony at McDonalds and the girls also made snowmen for the nursing home. The girls had a wonderful time caroling and the residents at the retirement home had a great time listening and enjoying the snowmen the girls presented to them !
The girls also did a special project for the Custer house - they made and decorated ornaments to be displayed at the house to the public .
The girls had a busy January and February month ! They earned two try-its and a half of another one ! They earned their colors and shapes and play try-its ! They also earned half of their point, click and go try-it !
Some of the things they learned were: making their own wrapping paper and gift cards with sponge paints, mixing paint to form colors,weaving and making play dough shapes (the last two at Brownie Fun Day) , learning games from other countries (Japan,England and Iceland and our country America)and learning to make the computer work, upload pictures on a computer from another source and how to save an image on their disk ! They also played a game on the internet !
The girls also completed the expo at the Mall which earned them an expo segment for their vest ! (Check Expo link at home page)
The girls did a wonderful job and had a great time in all the events !

MARCH AND APRIL EVENTS
The girls were very busy this Month - they earned their cookie count try-it, music try-it,point,click and go try-it, half of their art to wear try-it and participated in some council and community events.
Some of the things they did for their try-its include - learned about manner and role playing, making change, who to donate to and they went on a field trip to Baker Boy and watched how they make cookies ! The girls got their own baker's hat and a free cookie - they say it was yuuummmy !!!!!
For their Music try-it they sang a song in rounds, sang 3 action songs, used glasses to make a melody, and sang "are you sleeping" ! We have a very musical and talented group ! The girls now finished their point click and go try-it. They learned to e-mail to the Easter Bunny and also got an image off the internet and used that image to create a piece of stationary. They also did half of their art try-it. They made bunny pins out of clothes pins and drew a picture for their t-shirt art.
The girls had fun at the Thinking Day Event - they made their own spaghetti, learned a new dance and learned how to make an easter stained glass picture. Later that evening, the girls participated in the Father/Daughter Sock Hop - Fun was had by all ! The girls also participated in a troop Food Drive - they collected 60 cans of Food for the Amen Food Pantry. The Girls did a wonderful job and we are very proud of them.
The girls also did some Easter activities - they went on a mini hunt sponsored by their leaders and also learned how to dye eggs the natural way with beet juice . The girls are having a busy April - They started selling cookies for the first time as Brownies - sounds like they are all having fun ! They earned their cookie count patch and know a lot about selling cookies! Good Luck Girls ! The Girls started working on their math try-it this month - they learned how to count items and make a guessing game ! They also learned how to make a secret message using numbers - they will continue on this try-it in May !
Here we are in May, how time flies. The girls finished their Art to Wear Try-it. They ironed on pictures they made, on a t-shirt and also finished making their buddy bands!They also helped another Brownie group meet their requirements for bridging. They provided a snack and showed our girls how to make a fire out of pretzels and red hots. They also showed them what it is going to be like to be a Junior! The girls also made tissue paper roses for the Court of Awards - there were lots of roses made. The girls will receive Helping Hand hours for this. They also had their picture taken as a group after the Court of Awards. The girls also did finish their math try-it this month ! The last item the girls had to do was measure with a ruler - they had a wonderful learning time. The timeline was done at the "Her Story" event. The girls also participated in a end-of-the-girl-scout-year party at Happy Joes.
We also would like to wish all the Mothers a Happy Mother's Day. The girls presented their mothers with a live plant and a tissue rose they made themselves.
The girls particpated in Arbor Day and Boat Safety - they had lots of fun.
