Well, in 1997, the big news for our island was the official completion and opening of Confederation Bridge and Gateway Village. Bridgefest has now become an annual affair. It sure does bring a lot of people over to the little island and to the tiny town of Borden-Carleton
Well...we have moved away from the Island, but in many ways our hearts are still there...the friends we made are very dear and there are memories that will stay with us forever.
It is very beautiful there and we will never forget the few brief years we were able to spend on that peaceful little island with beaches on every side, rolling hills and the quiet way of life.

Also, there has been a lot of construction take place and many things have changed around the little town of Borden.
Times are always changing though, and the bridge has given islanders and visitors a much quicker access route. On our island side of the bridge, this building houses food services, tourism attendants, museum(interpretive centre) and covers much of the history of the local area and the ferries that were here before the BIG BRIDGE happened!!!
Below, I am showing you some of the scenes of the Island that I find particularly pretty... these are the things to me that makes living on this tiny island so appealing..
