MY FAMILY TREE

Would you believe that I found my mother's biological mother?? Yes, I did!!!

In loving memory of
IVA HANNAH PASH

I know the headstone says "Ivy" but her death certificate and other papers shows "Iva" and that is what I'm convinced it is. And besides that, my sister is named after her.

You see... Last November, I felt this great need to figure out where I came from and what medical ailments my family had suffered from. I have an aunt who dabbles in genealogy and she had given copies of some family tree charts to my dad who inturn gave them to me. Why I don't know. I think he just forgot that I had them. Anyway, these charts had been laying around in my house collecting dust for nearly 4 years when I pulled them out and sifted through them. Then I got online and took a virtual beginning genealogy course which opened the doors to endless possibilities on how to go about tracing my roots. First step was to find a computer program to keep track of all my data. Next, I inputted everything I already knew using the charts that my aunt compiled. Once I was done with that, I just stared at this lopsided tree. Meaning, I knew so much about my father's side of the family, but all I knew about my mother's side was a name and a last known address. I decided right then and there to concentrate on seeing what I could find out about my grandmother.

And heeeeerrrrrrreeeeee she is...
OUR GRANDMOTHER

I was told that she was around 20 years old in this picture. Do you see any family resemblance???

More to come!!
