Rene' and Murphy in Europe
July 2002

During July 2002, Rene' and Murphy toured Europe with a group from church. The two-week tour covered Germany, Switzerland, Scotland, and England. An enjoyable time was had by all.

Berlin had many United Buddy Bears on display throughout the city. Murphy was the one on the right.

Rene' posed with Bach at St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. He was Cantor (Choirmaster) there from 1723 to 1750.

Rene' and Murphy posed in front of the Town Hall of Leipzig, one of the most important Renaissance buildings of Germany.

Deborah hammed it up with Rene' and Murphy in Worms (the German city, not the little animal, pronounced Vurms).

The entire tour group posed together in Heidelberg Castle.

Oban, population 8500 people, was a picturesque Scottish village right out of a storybook.

Bob, Murphy, Carol, and Rene' enjoyed each other's company for dinner one evening in Oban.

Central Scotland was just beautiful.

Murphy tried on some 14th Century Scottish headdress armor in Bannockburn.

St. Andrews Castle, now in ruins, was once the main residence of bishops and archbishops of St. Andrews.

Rene' and Murphy stood on the North Sea in the ruins of St. Andrews Castle during a cold rain storm.

Part of the guard changing at Buckingham Palace in London.

Rene' posed in front of the Tower Bridge on London's Thames River.

One last tour group photo.
