Joel, Kayla, Jo Ann, and Murphy
December 1999

During October 1999, Murphy was doing genealogy research concerning Rene's ancestors and first met Jo Ann (Rene's second cousin, once removed), who organized and hosted an annual family reunion. Murphy and Rene' had not previously been aware of this annual reunion because (1) the reunion was in another state, (2) Rene's great grandfather had changed his last name when he moved out of that state, and (3) Murphy had not done any serious genealogy research prior to 1998. It was a reply to a genealogy research letter that Murphy had sent to an old church in a small town that pointed Murphy to Jo Ann.

On another visit in December 1999 (when this photo was taken), we met at a pizzeria owned and operated by Jo Ann's son, Joel. Jo Ann's daughter, Kayla, joined us for a while. Good folks, good food, and good time. From left to right: Joel, Kayla, Jo Ann, and Murphy.
