Clara
1935, 1936, and 1938

Some history stuff:

These photos show Clara, her sisters (Bertha, Helene, and Alice), her brother (Frank), some of their kids and spouses, and friends.

Any writing on the front of the photo was left on for historical completeness. Any pertinent writing that was on the back of the photo has been put into the caption. One exception: it appears that Clara was learning how to use her new camera and there were handwritten critiques of photo quality on the back of several photos.

The years in which the photos were taken were told to Murphy by Clara a couple of years before she died. She was not exactly sure of some of them, but thought they were close. She said the first photo was from 1935, the last two were from 1938, and the rest were from 1936. After looking at the photos while making up this digital photo album, it seems that the two Bertha photos were not from the same year. And some of Richard's and Frank's photos look like they were taken some time apart.

Some location stuff:

Many of the photos were taken in the neighborhood of Patterson Park. One of the photos showed Bradford, a North-South street, where it runs into Patterson Park at Eastern Avenue. Another photo shows Pratt Street, in the upper right corner of the map. And some photos were taken in Patterson Park.

Frank and Pauline. We don't know who Pauline is, but apparently they are friends.
