Sport BC is proud to present the 32nd Annual Athlete of the Year Awards Banquet. This event will be on Tuesday. February 24th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Vancouver.

BC's best amateur athletes were selected today for Sport BC's 32nd Annual Athlete of the Year Aawrds. A media selection panel from accross the province chose these finalists, listed in their respective categories:

High School Athlete of the Year
Keith Bustard (Basketball/Soccer) - Vancouver
Rosalyn Hicks (Soccer/Volley/Basketball) - N. Van.
Joel Nelson (Athletics) - Surrey

University/College Athlete of the Year
Eric Hinrichsen (Basketball UVic) - Victoria
Daniel Igali (Wrestling SFU) - Surrey
Mark Nohra (Football UBC) - Vancouver

Master Athlete of the Year
Debbie Brill (Athletics) - Burnaby
Bonnie Pronk (Swimming) - Heriot Bay
George Stokes (Golf) - Victoria

Disbaled Athlete of the Year
Clint Blaikie (Water Skiing) - Campbell River
James Treur (Wheelchair Basketball) - Vancouver
Daniel Wesley (Disabled Skiing) - New Westminster

Junior Athlete of the Year
Clint Blaikie (Water Skiing) - Campbell River
Jessica Deglau (Swimming) - Vancouver
Gordon Scutt (Golf) - Victoria

Senior Athlete of the Year
Lori Bowden (Triathlon) - Victoria
Neal Marshall (Speed Skating) - Coquitlam
Gareth Reese (Rugby) - Victoria

Winners of the Harry Jerome Comeback Award, Coach of the Year Award and Official of the Year Award were also selected and will be announced prior to the banquet.
