This lists of all my foster cats names, has some brief info & stories. I will try to list them by year and litter, but they do number about 200+ :)
Since I now work as the foster program co-ordinator at the shelter (since 1999) I look out for well over 200+ cats and dogs per month now besides those personaly in my home, this only list those animals which lived with us or at my parents.
You would be surprized to know over 1300 cats and dogs where fostered out in 1999, 1500 cats and dogs where fostered in 2000!!!

Please be warned, I have included all of the cats/kittens that did not make it to adoption in the 11 years I have been fostering, I hope to imortalize them in some way by doing so, and I want to be honest about my fostering, also it shows you how every little are lost, the humane society does all they can to try and save them, but in life sometimes it's impossable.

LAST OF MY FOSTER CATS FOR NOW

  36. Layca and her kittens Dali, Ashura and PepeAll where adopted, Layca had to saty with us longer because she was under wieght, but got a home in less then 2 days when she went back! Foster because they where nursing, Layca because she was extremly thin.
  37. Sylva(-pop), and her 1st set of babies. Caspiane, Makoto, Taha(the gerber baby), Tala(speedy gonzala) and Zenki. All of these sweet little kittens where adopted. Taha had an usual chin which made her look like a human baby, Tala was VERY fast and very smart he was the first at everything! Caspiane was very quite and loved to be near people like his brother Makoto. Zenki had the most unusual face, he looked like a little fox, his ears where rather small and pointed for a cat, he was also very smart. Sylva was the BEST mother cat I ever knew, she loved her kittens very much and was always playing with them, she loved to catch flies and also played fetch the paper ball like a dog would. She went back to the HSOC, but got the "sniffles" so had to come back for fostering while she got better, she went into heat and managed to climb threw a very small opening that I still can't image a big cat like her skwezing threw (about 1 to 2 inchs ) she then jumped over a drive way and onto the roof next door, no one was home until a few hours later, when we found Sylva in the backyard. Of course she was pregnet so we kept her until her kittens where born and she and them were ready to go back.
Sylva's second little had three kittens, Samual, Cynthia and Zackery, these kittens were all very sweet and affectionet ,ike their mother. They were all adopted, Zackery to a friend of my mothers :)!!
Had Sylva and 2nd babies for X-mas. Fostered originaly for nursing, then she escaped and was foster for pregnacy (we found out much to late to have her spay safely) X-mas '98

    1996/97

  40. Luke, Lea(Chewie), Liddia(Liddy) and Misseltoes fostered for coccidia, and being too small. All where adopted.
  41. Tristan (Tris)was 5 weeks when we got him, but he was very skinny and a bit shy, He was adopted! Fostered because he was timid, and underwieght.

  45. Ethna, Ida, Felix and Tulip, yes this is my Tuli's litter! All of her brothers and sisters where adopted. Note: Tuli is now 4 years old :), I had these guys for X-mas and the fact they where to young and wild for adoption. Fostered for being to young and wild.

    1994-95
  46. Picika and Kieron Both litters with Wink, Blink and Picika nd Kieron had to be put to sleep due to an illness that was going around the humane society. Wink, Blink and Picika showed signs, but Kieron did not, when I took poor Picika in I knew it was the same illness that had taken the two sweethears Wink and Blink, but never dreamed thta Kieron was also sick, after this tragedy, I stopped forstering for a while. both groups for being to little for adoption
  47. Wink and Blink
  48. Bounder, Russo, Guiseppe and Won-Ton,Our little snow angels and one little black angel, Unfortunaly all these kittens got the feline flu, causing Russo very serious lung damage, he had to be put to sleep, it was a very sad day, we sent a long time helping them heal, and when it looked like they all had made it, Russo nose started to bleed all the time, at first they though he would be ok, but the vet looked at him and realised it was not his nose but lungs the where bleeding, we had to do what was best. Fortuntaly Bounder, Guiseppe and Won-Ton recoved completly and where adopted. Fostered because they where to young for adoption.
  49. Nina(the panther) and her kittens Dee(the 2nd), Dono(the 2nd) and Homer(the grey) All where adopted, Nina before her kittens, which is unusual in a shelter (more people want to adopt kittens). Foster because she/they where nursing.
  50. Felicity(the white) I almost adopted her, but when I went to fill out the forms she had already been adopted. We had her as they though she might be pregnant but it turned out she wasn't she was extremly shy however and the foster time did a great deal for her. Fostered as possibly pregnant, then because she was shy.
  51. Winston(half ears), Winston had frost bitten ears and lost the top half of his ears, He was adopted by a vet who moved to Alberta! Fostered because he was on medication for his ears.

    1992-93

  52. Emma and Dexter I had these sweeties from 2 weeks old until about 4 months. When they where ready to go back Emma got a hair line fracture on her toe and needed to wait till it healed, we took Dexter back for adotion and he pooped out of his litter, he was covered! They called us and we took him back, he has very done this before and we didn't know what the problem was, he also got a mild URI infection. Anyways once back with us he was fine and we found out it was due to his missing his sister! They where adopted together and Dex never had any other problems. (had these guys during X-mas '93). Origranly foster for being too young (2 1/2weeks old), then for broken toe and URI
  53. Mira, Rocco, Dudley, and Fleur Du Lis(Lily of the Valley) fostered for being to young and thin. All where adopted
  54. Karma and her kitten Winslow and adopted kittens Dono, Darwin, and Tiki All where adopted, Karma was actualy pregnet when I got her, and had to be fosted to another volunteer because the kittens tried to nurse which made it hazards to the unborn kittens, I kept in touch, Karma had 5 kittens, and when they when up for adoption where adopted, Karma herself was adopted by the other foster parents friend!! Originaly fostered because they where nursing, then because they where too little and Winslow was very shy.
  55. Boston Blacky, Nora Charles, Jazzmen and Magie fostered because they where to young for adoption. All where adopted.
  56. Fibi and her kittens, Kinnky & Krysy and her adopted son Perry Fostered because they where nursing. The kittens where adopted, Fibi sadly became ill in the shelter and had to be put down, she was a wonderful mother and only a year old. It makes me so mad, she was dumped because of the kittens, if she'd had a loving home (and/or been fixed) she would still be here today (the illness was distemper).
  57. Oliver, Dinkum, Tiger Lily and Pheobe Fostered because they where too young for adoption and needed to be better litter trained. all where adopted
  58. Philly, Orlando and Enrico all where adopted
  59. Billbo and Dee (unfortunatly Dee suffered from internal parisites, and had to be put to sleep, this was very hard for me even though I had only know him for 2 weeks of his short life - but having given him the second chance at life made it worth the effort) Billbo was orphaned at the age of 2 1/2 weeks old, we had to bottle feed him and teach him to eat solid food once he was old enought, he was an orange tabby with 6 toes and a "posible" thumb on each front foot that he used to hold his bottle. We had him until he was 10 weeks. He was adopted by a teacher in Ottawa.
  60. Layla, Rolly, Max(a million), and Hickory. These where my very first foster kittens! They were malnurished but very friendly. All were adopted.

Fortunitaly Tess did pull threw to be adopted, she was very touch and go for a long while. Fostered for being too young, coccidia, and being underwieght. Fostered for being to young, underwieght

these kittens where given to my mother to see if they could be saved since she is at home and had the time to try, sadly they where to far gone to be saved but eveything posible was done to try

  16. 4 namless kittens, after staff members nursed these guys as of 2 weeks old and then my mother tried to get them on to the food stage of life, 3 having dieded along the way these little fellows took a turn for the worst and had to be put down, something didn't develope right and at 7 weeks they looked barely 4 weeks.
  17. 5 nameless kittens, died due to starvation, everything was one to try and save these little ones but they where so far gone that even eating all day long didn't help at all, the Vet made the hard choise to have them but to sleep before the suffered any longer.

He was fostered to another person who kept him till his broken leg healed, he came back for adotpion and then was sneezing, so since his former foster parent was away he come with my mom and the boys to recover. He is very active, but this might be due to the fact he's been in a cage most of his life so far, he is looking forward to having a home of his own and is VERY affectionet. Need a home with other cats however as he is extremly playful.
