A Little About Me

(for those who are interested!!)

As you've probably guessed by now, I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and my greatest joy is being able to serve Jehovah in the Kingdom preaching work. Now that Jehovah has blessed me with a new husband, and a new country, I am enjoying finding out first hand that I do have a wonderful spiritual family wherever I go in the world. I was in the Mt Evelyn congregation in Victoria, Australia, but in March 99 I move to Pennsylvania, USA, where I attend the Latrobe congregation. I am nearly 36 years old and have been baptised for nearly 4 years (only a babe!!). Our congregation has around 130 publishers and about 5 active pioneers. We have quite a number of older members of the congregation who are a great inspiriation. To see their zeal and love for Jehovah after spending many years in his service and having to deal with the problems associated with ageing is truely encouraging.

Although I would love to spend more time in the ministry, auxilliary pioneering at least once a year is the mimimum goal I have set until my circumstances become more favorable to spending more time in service. My family is my most important territory at the moment, so there is where my efforts are currently focused.

I also enjoy many hobbies (when I get the chance!!). I like being creative and really enjoy painting, (the background to this page is part of my fav paintings that I have done) decoupage, ceramics, anything like that. Currently decoupaging bottles is a favorite family passtime!! Also I can play a bit of bass guitar and keyboard, (which I never have time to do anymore) but I prefer to sing (not that I'm terribly good - just as well there are many other voices that drown mine out at the meetings!!!).

Other activities I enjoy doing are ice-skating, horseriding, swimming, roller-skating, taboggoning, hiking, camping, and one day I hope to go scuba diving. There is just so much enjoyment to get out of life, we really need to live forever to be able to experience all the wonderful things our loving Creator has made for our enjoyment. Travel is something I would like to do in the future, but I think that I will have to save most of that for the new system!! Right now my main concerns have to be helping to build a spiritually strong family that will remain firm through to the new system - now that is a challenge!!!
