The Van Lear Historical Society,Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and heritage of the town of Van Lear, Kentucky. The town of Van Lear was originally constructed by The Consolidation Coal Company to house and accommodate "Consol"'s employees and their families. The history of Van Lear centers on the history of Applachian mining and to a lesser extent still does. It is in light of these facts that we provide the following links :
