Minister

Brother Roger Banks has served as the minister for the Church of Christ at 800 East Wood Street since July 1989. He recently completed his doctoral work at Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary in Shreveport, Louisiana. Bro. Banks was appointed an elder in 1994.

Key responsibilities

Brother Banks fills the pulpit for the East Wood Church of Christ. He conducts a number of gospel meetings each year for congregations across the Southeast. Bro. Roger teaches an auditorium adult class on Wednesday evenings, a young couples Sunday morning class and the Wednesday morning ladies bible class. Brother Roger produces a daily minute message for the local radio station.

Serving as the minister and an elder for the church occupies most of Bro. Bank's time.

Biographical Information

Brother Roger Banks was born and reared in Columbia, Tennessee. He has been married to Mary Sue Myatt for thirty-two years. They have two grown children Bryan and Doc and one grandson Jessie.

Personal Interests

Brother Roger enjoys fishing, visits with his grandson, and restoring old cars during what little spare time he finds.
