Kilo is a 4-year-old German shepherd who is a patrol dog for the Montezuma County Sheriff's Dept. in Cortez, Colorado. Kilo was assigned to Deputy Marston on November 28 1997.
(Michael's birthday, what a present!)

Kilo lives at home with Michael and his family and is a normal playful dog when not at work. Kilo KNOWS when it is time to go to work and boy does he look forward to it! Kilo spends his workday looking for bad guys and harassing the other officers by jumping on them and trying to tear up there newly polished boots (Only when taunted by a ball though!)

All the officers get along well with Kilo as if he were another co-worker. (After all, he is!) Kilo spends his days off playing with the other dogs at home and with Taylor.

Kilo has been in active patrol since March 1 1998 and is responsible for many arrests through his tracking ability.

Kilo was used throughout the extensive manhunt in southwest Colorado and southeast Utah for the killers of Cortez Police officer Dale Claxton. These tasks ranging from tracking, clearing houses and out buildings where the suspects may be or been. Kilo was one of the first K-9's deployed to track the three fugitives. He tracked the suspects for approx. 3 to 4 miles in extreme heat before he had no more to give due to the heat. Fresh dogs where then called in to relieve him.
