My Life Testimony
I am a Christian. I was born into a Christian family, but that does not automatically make me a Christian (in the same way, a horse in a garage will not turn into a car).

Before I received eternal life, I was very afraid of death, afraid to die, because it seemed to weird and strange. When I was 11 years old in Sunday School, the teacher taught us that we will go to Heaven when we die, if we have Jesus in our hearts. At the end of the lesson, the teacher asked us who would like to go to Heaven, and on that day, I asked Jesus into my heart.

However, my life did not change. I continued in my old self all the way through my secondary school. It was one day when I was in Sunway College, that it changed altogether. I was going through a very low point in my life because I had somewhat rebelled against God and was facing the consequences. It was one evening that the Christian Fellowship (CF) had one of their Cell Group (CG) meetings, and they invited me to join them. To please the CF members, I agreed to attend, but in my heart I wasn't planning to do so, and felt like playing badminton that night instead. But …. don't ask me how, I can't remember, I ended up at the CG meeting. There was nothing really 'spectacular' about the CG meeting that night – just a simple prayer meeting. But, at that meeting, God spoke to me (not in a loud audible voice), and He showed me how terrible my sins were. I felt so unworthy and guilty in His presence, and at that moment, I asked for His forgiveness for all the times I've hurt Him in my life.

I went out of the CG meeting a changed person. I don't know if the change was obvious to others, but for me, I was totally brand new person inside. My style of thinking changed, contents of my speech improved (I used to swear a lot) and the funniest part is, it didn't even require any effort. God has changed me !! You can dispute everything said about Christianity, but you can't dispute the fact that He has changed me, because that is my own personal experience.

Through that experience, I can see the God's hand working. It was definitely not by chance that I ended up in the CG meeting. I could have so easily gone to the arcade for a few games, and played badminton, as I was quite a badminton freak at that time. He didn't use a 'spectacular' event to reach me, just His still small voice was enough to drive me into conviction.

Ever since, I've never ever looked back. God, through His servants and His Word has revealed more and more about Him, things that I've never realised before. What made me believe in Jesus is the fact that He first loved me, and gave His life on the cross for me, that He took the punishment that I deserved upon Himself. That to me, is the greatest show of strength and love ever seen. I see greater strength in a Saviour who lay down His life for me, with nail-scarred hands outstretched than in a sword-wielding Roman soldier.

Throughout my life, up to now, I can really see God's grace, faithfulness and goodness to me. A Christian life is not devoid of troubles, because Christians are human also. However, in everything that I go through, I know that He is with me, that He goes before me, that He provides the grace and strength to go through whatever I have to go through. I am convinced that nothing will happen to me unless He allows it and in the process, He's changing me, more and more into the person that He wants me to be. I'm not a finished product yet you know ….

The best part of all this is that on the day when death comes upon me, I can say with great joy and confidence 'Take my hand Lord Jesus, I'm coming home !!'

My friend, do you have Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour ? He loves you, and wants you to be in Heaven with him. Accepting Jesus DOES NOT turn you into a weakling. It is the most important decision that you will make all your life, because it decides your eternal destiny. I would be glad to talk further with you about this matter should you have anything to ask, comment etc …..
