I'm currently doing a Ph.D. (it's Doctor of Philosophy, not Permanent Head Damage as so popularly known as) by research in the Engineering Department, Leicester University. My research area is Sliding-Mode Observers for Fault Detection and Isolation.
This is my 'office' space. It's the Control Systems Research Office in the 6th Floor of the Engineering Tower. On it you can obviously see my computer monitor on the left of my table, the CPU on the right, my water bottle beside the CPU. Also near the CPU on my table is my coffee cup, of which I drink water in there too ...... Further to the right are some 'benches' because I suspect this place used to be a laboratory, so probably was once used as an experiment bench. On it, you can see my mini-kettle, very useful when the coffee room is booked. Behind it is my camera bag, so happen I had my camera with me (can't remember why I brought my camera). On the left of my main office table you can see another table with 2 ring files on it. I've kind of 'reclaimed' that empty table to store my books. Behind my table you see a wall with pieces of paper stuck on it, it's my notes that I wrote down in my early days of Ph.D. I like this office space .... very nice and comfortable.
This is one of those times when I'm pretending to be hardworking lah. Quite convincing eh ?? (photo's a little under-exposed though .... probably due to the desk lamp)
