Our Wedding Day

Martin and I were married on April 3, 1999 in Norfolk, Virginia. We Had a very nice, intimate service and reception. A lot of work went into this, but it was well worth it. Many hours of sewing, needlepoint, typing, and printing were put in. I had a little help, and it came out great!
We had a few glitches and some comedy relief, as well as romance. The cake was late, the groom's cake forgotten, but arrived before we left. My 4yr old had to go potty right after the music started, which caused a false start. (We cut off the music so he could go) The procession went well after that, though.
Martin and I were both very nervous and forgot a few lines, but no major problems. The unity candle lighting was so special and I will forever remember it.
Our ceremony was written by us, and reflected our relationship quite well. I know a lot of people are not sure if they can write their own ceremony or vows, but we used the traditional vows as a base to start with.
Our reception was nice. The children certainly enjoyed themselves. The cake was absolutely delicious and I received a lot of compliments on it. I had my first dance with Martin, and danced with my Dad. We enjoyed it a lot. I think that those who missed our wedding missed a great time.
