Theodor , son of Christoph(er) MAHNKE and Louisa REPPENHAGEN. There was a Christoph and Elise Manke living with Frederick and Augusta (?) Brein in 1880 (also another daughter Christine Mahnke). This may be Theodor's parents, since another sister lived next door. Theodor was a cigarmaker (and later when he "retired" was a security guard at Gimbels) who came to Milwaukee when he was 13 years old (Sept. 1874). He was born about December 27, 1860 in Menkow (sp?), Mecklenburg, Germany.
On October 30, 1881 he married Minna (Minnie) Stuebbe, daughter of Charles (Carl) Stuebbe and Augusta LINDE in Milwaukee. The witnesses were John KRUSE and Fred PREHM. Minnie was born on December 31, 1964 in Warchin, Prussia, Germany. She came to Milwaukee with her parents when she was 9 months old (Sept. 1865).
Theodor died December 24, 1937 in Milwaukee at the age of 77 years and 11 months, and is buried at Valhalla Cemetery in Milwaukee. Gastric carcinoma is listed on the cemetery papers as cause of death. His obituary lists a sister, Mrs. Minnie KRUSE, was the wife of John KRUSE.
Minnie Stuebe Mahnke passed away on November 19, 1941 in Milwaukee at the age of 76 years and 10 months of a cerebral hemorrhage (5 days duration), and is buried at Valhalla Cemetery. Her daughter, Mrs. Flora Kalb, provided the information on the death certificate. Minnie was living with the Kalbs.
1. Alma Mahnke born before 1885 in Milwaukee. She married Joseph Ohl. Alma died May 16, 1964. Her husband Joseph died February 15, 1945. One son, George Ohl died April 19, 1921. Another son, Romaine A. Ohl died October 15, 1987. They are all buried in the family plot at Valhalla.
2. Edward Mahnke was born November 30, 1885 in Milwaukee. He married Christina Jacobina Wallrabenstein on May 2, 1906 in Milwaukee at his parent's house. He was a tailor by trade. Christina passed away on June 5, 1946 in Milwaukee and was buried at Forest Home Cemetery. Edward died one month later on July 22, 1946 in Milwaukee and is buried at Forest Home.
A. Leroy Charles Mahnke, born February 27, 1907 in Hartford, Wisconsin. He married Marie Dolores Widuch (daughter of George and Magdalena Bielewicz Widuch) on June 25, 1929 in Milwaukee.
Leroy died at Elmbrook Hospital in Brookfield, Wisconsin after suffering pains in the chest on February 23, 1976. He was buried at St. Joan of Arc Cemetery in Oconomowoc.
Marie Mahnke was born November 15, 1907 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Her parents moved to Milwaukee when she was young. She died June 4, 1997 at the Masonic Health Care Center in Dousman, Wisconsin and is buried beside her husband.

B. Norman Chester Mahnke was born August 21, 1911 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He married Anna Biello December 13, 1938 in Milwaukee. Nor owned Nor's Restaurant in Milwaukee for many years. Nor died of cancer in December 1980 in Milwaukee.
3. Elsie Mahnke married William (Wilhelm)Arndt.
4. Flora Mahnke married Unknown Kalb.
