How I came to live in Texas
In '89 I was living in Watsonville, Ca.
A town known for the food it grows,especially lettuce and celery.
It is a small town 11 miles south of Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
A very famous beach in it's hey day.
My husband had just passed away 6 weeks earlier; on Sept 3rd.
By that time I knew my income would be $300.00 a month.
I also knew the space rent in the park my home was in was $300.00 a month + all utilities.
Oh what to do??
I can't live on such a small amount,Go to work said I. Where?
The town was all but destroyed along with Santa Cruz.
For today I will just watch the ball game and think about it tomorrow.
