The Real Quilts

What I mean by "real" quilts...well, I guess I mean quilts that are actually finished. Made of fabric and thread and batting. I will have more here as soon as I get the pictures developed. If you wish to see a larger image, click on the photo. Enjoy!

Hoffman Challenge

40" x 40"

This is the Hoffman Challenge I did this year. It started out as a project for a border class I was taking. I needed a center block to start with, and foundation pieced this feathered star. I used the Hoffman Challenge 98 fabric in it, and I just went from there...I have sent it in, and am now waiting to see if it gets accepted..but I am not holding my breath..LOL!!

Watercolor Rails

This is a quilt I made in a class with Deanna Spingola. It is called Watercolor Rails, and is strip pieced. Deanna is a great teacher and I really learned a lot about value and color in her class. The quilt now hangs above the sofa in my living room. There isn't a larger version of this picture, sorry.

Christmas Vest

This is a not so great picture of a vest I made for Christmas. It has lace, lame', and silk ribbon embroidery on it. I also used various cording and metallic threads. I entered it in the Patches on the Prairie Quilt Show this last April and it won Third place in the Wearable Art Catagory. Of course this was only a Viewers Choice Judging, and my own Dad did not vote for it!! :-)
I have forgiven him.

Glendive Community Quilt

This is a quilt the Patches on the Prairie Quilt Guild did. The Community quilt has blocks in it that depict the area and the people that live here. It travels around the city of Glendive and is on display at various lacations before moving on. It is a truley unique and wonderful quilt, and the photograph does not do it justice.
