Spotlight

Aust, Am, & NZ Ch Los Pinos Spotlight In Paris (Imp USA)

DOB: 21/7/93, Black Tri, 20 1/2 inches tall, Hips: OFA Excellent
Eyes Clear

Sire: ASCA Ch Chanelde Center Ring Attraction

Dam:ASCA Ch Jubilee's Gold Digger

A Lovely Foundation bitch for Sugargum Spotlight was imported in Whelp in 1997 to Kiko (Colorado How The West Was Won, owned by Leslie Sorensen of Colorado Kennels) a dog of very strong working lines (he herds horses for a living) who is closely line bred on ASCA Ch Jones Reddy Teddy.  Kiko is a very dark blue merle and really stamped his type on the resulting seven pups. Spotlight was due to be released from quarantine the day she whelped and in true Aussie Style, she took only two hours and ten minutes to have her pups, with three strangers as mid-wives.  We packed her and the pups up and brought them to their new home here at Sugargum where she continued with her excellent maternal instincts.

Prior to leaving the American shores Spotlight was entered in two ASCA shows where she obtained two five point majors, requiring only one more five point major for her ASCA Ch title.  Spotlight’s show highlights in Australia include a multitude of Best of Breeds, Runner up in Group, 1998 Canberra Royal Bitch Challenge,  Reserve Challenge and Open In Show at the first Aussie Shepherd Championship Show and Trial hosted by the Australian Shepherd Association of NSW.  Spotlight also excels in playing with her dolly, and can be seen at home with it hanging from her mouth and her "butt" wiggling from her shoulders backwards.

In mid 1999 Spotlight took a trip to New Zealand and stayed with the owners of her daughter Matty from the "Top" litter.  At her first show in NZ she took out Best in Group. She came home a little while later with her NZ Championship.

Sire: Aust Ch Bouncing Ball's Chance of Fog (Imp USA) ADX

Dam: Aust Ch Bouncing Ball's Tiny Jazzdance (Imp USA) CDX

BB is what people know the Aussie is all about, attitude ... a dog that does it all ..... and with flair. She began
life as the last born in her litter, but soon made sure she was first to do everything ... eat, play, sleep... a born
leader, even to the point of trying the full size Agility table at 9 weeks while following her Dad (Chance)  "If you can’t do it fast,
then it's not worth doing" is her motto.

Sadly, BB was laid to rest after losing a battle with pyometra in 2002.

Abbey

Oakensheild Abbey AD JD Therapy Dog

This photo is of Abbey competing in Open Agility at 10 years of age, completing the course quicker than GSD's half her age

From day-one Abbey was always going to be laid back and the ideal therapy dog with people and other dogs, especially for puppies when socialising is required. She is the gentle giant. Abbey is not the fastest dog at Agility but she is very precise with many clear rounds. Abbey came out of retirement at 9 years of age and with great vigour, obtained her JD title.
