Wow, you've got a lot of Whitneys. Sadly, I can't connect my William Whitney (m. Sarah Compton, d/o Joseph Compton and Anna VanDeusen of New York). My William came from Virginia, then Kentucky, to Louisiana, circa 1830.

We may be cousins. Samantha Adams married my Gr-gr-grandfather, John Osborne Love. Her daddy was Rev. Andy Adams. They lived in Gordon Co, I think, and eventually, about 1880 moved to ARK. and formed Georgia Ridge, with a number of Georgians who came w th them. John started his own church.
