I am very interested in Rhodesian Ridgebacks. We are relocating from Texas to the mountains of Colorado where there are cougars and black bears living very near our property. I was wondering if this breed would be good to protect our children (3 & 6), and what the prices are for pups. thanks for any info.

We have a Ridgeback, he'll be 2 yrs in June. Have to find a new home for him. Nothing wrong with him, it's us! Our family is relocating and we cannot take him with us. He was purchased from a kennel in NW Tennessee near Clarksville. Know anyone who needs terrific pet? He has a limited registration, his ridge is too short.

Fell in love immediately with all your dogs. We have two RR, one 14yrs and the other 7mths, Sebastian and Osborne who give us so much pleasure and love. There isn't another dog in the world to compare them with they are just wonderful. Your site is fan astic.

I would be interested in finding out more about this breed. My wife and I are building a house (should be completed in about six mos) and would like to have a dog become part of the family. We currently live in Fort Walton Beach but are moving to Nicevi le when the house is completed. We'll have a large fenced lot. Everything I read about Rhodesian Ridgebacks is very positive. I'm also interested in prices. If you could give me a general idea of initial cost I would appreciate it. Thanks, Terry Cooper

I'm a Marine flight student at NAS Whiting Field, FL. My wife and I have heard a lot about Ridgebacks and we're very interested in learning more and possibly acquiring a puppy. Both of us want a good companion dog for when I'm away on deployment and we're thinking the Ridgeback might be the perfect dog. Could you get back to me on ball park costs for a puppy to include shots and basic training. We're not at all looking for a show quality dog but we are concerned with overall health. we have both grown up around dogs and we're very excited to be getting one of our own. I own a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix (makes for a stubborn lovable dog) who I saved from the Kentucky Humane Society. Her name is Rubby and I wish very dearly that I could get her a playmate (can't , live in an apartment) but that will have to wait unti the house. I love these dogs! Give me a wire!

Cool site! I work with your daughter Heather and she told me about her dog. I have never seen a Ridgeback in person, so she told me about your site. I think I surprised her because she asked me if I knew what they were used for and I told her hunting lion isn't it. Her mouth dropped and said very good, and that not very many people know what kind of dog a ridgeback is. What she didn't realize is that I have trained two Chocolate Labs for huhting upland and water fowl birds. I still don't think she knows b cause she never asked if I had a dog. We just got our first RR. She is 10 weeks old and VERY into play biting. I am searching for ideas on what we can do to make her stop. Hands and feet are her favorite, although I have two gouges on my face right now..from a head butt, where a tooth got inv lved!
