Ryan answered the following questions in May 2002.

1. What are you doing now?

I'm an artist living in New York City. I work as an animator for a company that makes educational software. I also paint, draw comic books and do some freelance illustration work on the side. Last year I designed a game called Stuperpowers with some of my buddies and got it published. Before that I designed t-shirts for rock bands, did some graphic design for magazines, made web pages, all kinds of fun stuff.

2. Are you married? When? Kids? How old?

Engaged - getting married on September 2002. No kids.

3. Most exciting thing to happen to you since we graduated.

Moving to New York City with no money and no job 7 years ago and doing just fine. Getting a book published. Getting engaged.

4. Any graduate work?

Nope - I didn't quite finish college (Syracuse University). Someday.

5. Who do you most want to contact from our class? Lots of people - Neil Alumkal, Charles Eaton, Christine Hanchet, Julian Neale, Darren Prodger, Paul Yu, Bonnie Tucker, Tony Chung, Heather Shuster - It'd be nice to hear from just about anyone, really. Jeez, that sounds pathetic...

6. Funniest memory from HKIS?

Andrew Rutherford freaking out and destroying my art homework seconds before I was going to hand it in. Actually I was pretty mad at the time, but it's a good memory. And being in Mr. Wetjen's 8th grade class making fun of the new students names before they even started classes. Sneaking in Ocean Park about a dozen different times from Neil's house.

7. What was your "Ten Years From Now?"...Did it happen?

I don't remember but I'm sure it had something to do with being an artist, which is what I do, so yes.

8. Now that we've grown up, are you what you wanted to be? What do you want to be?

I've wanted to be an artist since I was about 14. I wish I could make a living doing only the kind of work that I enjoy (drawing comics, painting) and less of the boring stuff that pays the bills, but I'm very happy with what I do.

9. Favorite HKIS teacher? Least favorite?

I especially liked Mr. Feia. I remember all the teachers being great, I even liked Dr. Goodyear, as nuts as he was. The only one I hated was my junior high art teacher - can't remember her name, but she singled me out as a troublemaker and thought I wasn't interested in art for some reason. I sure proved her wrong, huh?

10. How many cities have you lived in since graduation?

Five: Erie Pennsylvania, Syracuse, Philadelphia, Atlantic City and New York.
