Yoshiko is starting her second year in the PhD program at SUNY Stony Brook in archaeology. She is studying Siberian paleolithic archaeology, and visited Siberia for the first time this past summer. She is studying for her qualifying exam and also brushing up her Russian for future visits. Before that she worked in Japan and also volunteered in Sri Lanka as an archaeologist.

1. What are you doing now?

Graduate student, 2nd year in PhD program, Archaeology

2. Are you married? When? Kids? How old?

No, not yet, none.

3. Most exciting thing to happen to you since we graduated.

Studied a group of reindeer hunters in Siberia. Got to ride a reindeer, too! :) Living in Sri Lanka for two years as a volunteer was also exciting. Can't decide which was more...

4. Any graduate work?

Yes, still at it now.

5. Who do you most want to contact from our class/expect to see at the reunion?

Sorry, not going to the reunion.

6. Funniest memory from HKIS?

Can't think of *anything*. Pathetic, isn't it?

7. What was your "Ten Years From Now?"...Did it happen?

I think I was supposed to be a chemistry teacher. I ran away from that field at an early stage.

8. Now that we've grown up, are you what you wanted to be? What do you want to be?

I was never sure what I wanted to be, but now I want to be an archaeologist and I guess I'm pretty much am already.

9. Favorite HKIS teacher? Least favorite?

Favorite -- Mr. Erhardt. Least favorite -- the blonde english teacher. I forgot her name (erased bad memories).

10. How many cities have you lived in since graduation?

Five.
