Please note:  All family members born in the year 1945 or later (and their siblings--meaning that most people born in the 1930s and later are not on this website) have been left off of the internet tree unless otherwise requested.  All information on these family members are maintained within my genealogy program.

Thomas Haughey, Immigrant from Ireland. It was noted in Portrait and Biographical Album of Greene and Clark Counties, Ohio published by Chapman Bros (Chicago), 1890 on pg. 846 that the paternal grandfather of Thomas Haughey (the son of John--see below) for a time carried a musket during the Revolutionary War.  It is noted in another book by W.H. Beers on page 1067 that Thomas settled in Virginia and had 11 children of which only John is known.

(1st generation) John Haughey, eldest child of Thomas Haughey. The W.H. Beers book mentioned above has the son of the Immigrant Thomas marrying Patience Sturdyven.  The author has confused son of Immigrant John with great grandson of Immigrant John.  I now have pictures of John & Patience's gravestones and the dates on the stones verify that great grandson John married Patience.

(2nd generation) Thomas Haughey, only son of John Haughey (unknown if any daughters existed) was born 7/20/1759, died 4/17/1847.  He married ~1786 to Violet (Vilet?) Clanch.  Violet was born 12/21/1769, died 11/18/1846.  They are buried in Hussey Cemetery, Bowersville, OH.  Thomas & Violet had 12 children (the 3 represents 3rd generation):

3-A. Jane b. about. 1787

3-B. John b. about. 1/2/1789

3-C. Barnett b. 4/4/1792

3-D. Alice b. 1/31/1794

3-E. Margaret (Peggy) b. 11/28/1796

3-F. Susan b. 1798

3-G. Polly b. 7/22/1800

3-H. Nancy b. 3/9/1802

3-I. Violet b. 1803

3-J. Andrew M. b. 1805

3-K. Sarah (Sally) b. 11/2/1806
