In May 2000 we took a trip to Bisbee - My very favorite Town-

to attend a friends wedding and to take in some memories there. We had a wonderful weekend and on our way home we decided to go the back-way home

thru to Sierra Vista to see if some old friends still lived there. Well we never found the friends but found ourselves looking way up on this mountain-something looked like a Cross waaaay up there.
So we drove up on this dirt road . As we climbed higher and higher towards that Cross we were amazed at what we found there.
You had to look straight up to see her all - we couldn't believe what we had "stumbled" upon

Our Lady of the Sierras

There she was - 35' tall in the middle of nowhere! Without the feeling attached it is hard to describe our experience....
There was a chapel there - the original one which was
crude and simple

(the chapel - not Philip....)
and a formal Adoration Chapel.
Inside there was a photograph of Mary in the sky on a night she appeared on this mountain to a couple who had just returned from Medjugorje,Yugoslavia...
it was kinda.....mystical.
Sounds .... kinda corny ...but it was tangible. Go see for yourselves! Soutwestern corner of Arizona , you can't miss it!
