Asian Arowana(Sclerophage formosus) once populate rivers of South East Asia country. Due to thier increasing popularity among aquarist and its high value, they are over-captured. Subsequently thier population reduced drastically  and they are classified as endangered species. Trading of wild Asian arowana are now illegal.

Fortunately, success in captive breeding replenished this beautiful creature's  population. Controlled trade of captive bred Asian arowana are now legalised in increasing number . Hopefully, in the near future, this majestic fish can be enjoyed by enthusiastic aquarist worldwide.
