From California to Texas...

I was born and raised in a little town in Northern California, Yuba City, less then 50 miles north of Sacramento. I lived there for 21 years before moving to San Luis Obispo to attend California Polytechnic University(Cal Poly). As much as I loved "SLObispo", the college didn't have a strong, structured program that I was going for(Art & Design-photography). I felt highly deceived, so I quit after the year was over. I stayed there for two years, I loved to watch the sun set at the Pismo Beach pier, the smell of the salt water, and the surfers so I thought I'd give surfing a try. I worked at McDonald's on Madonna Rd to pay for my "surfing habit", I even became friends with Pancho who owned Pancho's Surf Shop...maybe he just felt sorry for me, I always hung out in his shop and bought Rusty wear from him. I hardly got to get good at surfing before moving back to Yuba City a very financially broke person.

In October of 1995, I came to College Station, Texas(home to Texas A&M) to visit some friends I met over the Internet (IRC). After paying off all my debts, I bought a computer and continued the friendships in Texas I acquired while I was still in San Luis. I fell in love with the state of Texas, that in February of the following year, I came back to find which city I wanted to call "home."

On July 12th of 1996, I travelled to Greece before making Austin, Texas my final destination. I went to Athens, the islands of Santorini, and Samos for a month. I stayed with my Greek friend Stelios, who by far has become my closest male friend in the world. I met most of his family, and stayed with his aunt and uncle in Athens. Stelios showed me such a wonderful time, going to dance clubs every night, sleeping in until noon, going to the beach and tan, eating wonderful Greek food, it was truly a marvelous month, one in which I didn't want to end. I remember the day I had to leave. I was so sad, I literary cried the whole flight from Athens to Heathrow, England. My eyes were so swollen, I could barely see.

I moved to Austin two weeks after coming back from Greece, and stayed with friends until I found a place to call my own. I moved three times in 5 months. I finally settled down in North Austin, and lived a happy single life as a bartender for a whopping ONE month. Then I went to Dallas nightclub in Austin and it forever changed the course of my life...
