Dedication to COPD Family

div bar

The following poem was written by a member of the COPD support list I am on. COPD is a progressive disease; there is no cure. We do however, learn how to live with the day to day problems that come up but just as birth is a part of life, so is death. It hurts to lose those precious souls that we have grown to love so much. Our joy comes in knowing that they no longer struggle for that next breath.

This is in memory of the one's that are awaiting me
My friends and family that I loved so much
They left this world of pain and misery and became a soul floating free
I know they are still here even though I can't reach out and touch

I can feel their presence surrounding me and calming my soul
Much like they did when they were with me in mortality
They still befriend me and love me and make me whole
By leaving me memories that help me face the reality

They are awaiting my joining them just as I know I will
There is no other way they are a part of me
they are holding a place for me to fill
I can't wait to see you Mom, Jim and Bill
